If your reading this then you probably know very well who I am...right? Your either a very skilled detective or a very sneaky thief, if you don't know who I am then I'm slightly offended. My name is James Ball, Well that's one of my fake names, a world known killer, ruthless and without mercy, sick, twisted and very malicious. No one's ever unmasked me and no one ever will.
I wasn't always this way. I used to be rich, powerful, handsome, married to a stunning wife, father of three, kind caring and the most sympathetic man you ever met.
Why don't I tell you why when and how it all changed...
It began in the year 2000 January 19th, I had just met the most beautiful women I ever laid eyes on. The sort of beauty that makes your head turn weather your male, female, gay or straight. She was the sort that cared for others more than herself, welcoming accepting and...perfect just perfect. She looked like she came down from heaven. Amazing blond hair cascading down her shoulders, shocking blue eyes and a smile like no other...of course I didn't know half as much of this til later but I'll get to that.
I was sitting on a seat outside my favorite coffee shop, Edmondsons Elixir. Strange name I know but there's a reason, the coffee is pure bliss, always perfect and helps settle all nerves and worry's so the owner (Edmondson) decided to give his shop a name worthy of the quality of drinks he produced, which by the way are always being drunk and his shop is flooded with customers all the time. But I digress, it was when I took the last sip of the coffee, savouring every delicious drop when I saw her...and then saw a car spin out of control, flip and head in her direction.
"Shit" I gasped a loud
I lunged out of my seat dropping the cup to sprint over to her.
I must of coverd 20 meters in mere seconds because I dived at her grabbing her and pulling her to the ground using myself to cushion her landing as the car rolled past just scraping my leg cutting my ankle spewing out chunks of metal in almost every direction when it caught fire and crashed through the window of a clothing store.Shocked and stunned I blinked and helped her up.
"Are you okay? You didn't get hurt did you?!"
As she replied hundreds of people began to run, help other people and take photos.Scared with clear tears streaming down her face and shaking like a leaf she stuttered out.
" Th-thank you thank you so much!"
"You're welcome but are you okay? You didn't get hurt did you?" I questioned with both concern and insistance."No no I'm fine thank you very much. I'm just...just a bit ummm shook up is all"
By the time she finished her sentence there were already two ambulances and a fire truck shooting out thick powerful streams of water at the raging fire.
I took the new girl I'd met inside the coffee shop I was just in and bought her a nice hot cappuccino which she accepted with shakey hands.
I gently put my hands on hers to steady and reassure her."It's okay, don't worry. Your safe and everything is gunna be okay."
I was stunned by her beauty and found myself gazing into her eyes for a short while until she snapped me out of my transe.
"Cynthia" she smiled.
"I'm sorry what?" I blurted out turning my attention to what she said.
"Cynthia" she repeated, in a soft voice. "My name is Cynthia."
"Please excuse my rudness cynthia" I answered " My name is Alex, Alex Byton, do you live far from here? You still look a little traumatised. I can call you a taxi if you like, to get you home that is."
"Great name Alex and no I don't live very far, just a couple of streets away actually."
" In that case" I said standing up and offering her my hand. " would you mind if I walked you home?"
Smiling Cynthia stood up and took my hand. " yes, I would like that."
As we picked up our cups and walked out of the coffee shop to head to her house I caught her staring at my face.
Chuckling yet still walking I started anew our conversation.
"Take a picture it'll last longer"
"Sorry" she blushed. "You've just got a really nice jaw line."
"Just the jaw line?!" I laughed. "I'd like to think I've got other features worth swooning over... but thank you."
We both stopped in front of what must have been her house.
"You've got beautiful eyes Cynthia."
Cynthia laughed and blushed.
"Please, by me dinner first."
" for that" I said sarcasticly "I'll need your number."
She pulled out a pen and paper to Write down her phone number before fitting it into my top left jacket pocket and ending the day with a kiss on the cheek.
