~Chapter One~
Brooke's POV
*Beep! Beep!*
I wake up to my alarm clock going off. It's the first day of senior year. I jump up out of bed. (No not literally lol.) I start getting ready. I take a shower, get dressed, do my makeup, and do my hair. (outfit in media.) Once I'm done getting ready, I go downstairs. "You look nice!" my mom says. "Thank you!" I say back. "You excited?" she asks. "Of course!" I say. "I miss Kaitlin." I say. "Anyone else?" my mom asks. "Yeah..." I say back. "Ooo like Hunter?" she asks while smirking. "Yesss. I miss him so much." I say. "Awww." My mom says. "Mom come on we're just friends." I say and laugh. "So you're telling me that you don't have any type of feelings for him?" She says. "I-" I start to say but someone knocks at the door. "I'll get it." I say so I can avoid the question. I go over to the door and open it. "Oh my god." I say covering my mouth. I give the person a hug. "Who's at the door?" my mom asks, I don't answer. "Brooke?" She asks. I hear her voice getting closer. She must be coming to the door. The person and I just keep hugging. "Awww. Hi Hunter!" she says. "Hi miss Allen." he says while we're still hugging. "Alright well I'm going to get ready for work. Nice seeing you Hunter." my mom says. "Nice seeing you too." he says. I sniffle. "Are you crying??" he asks me. "No." I say while hiding my face in the hug. "Then look at me." he says. I pull away from the hug and look at him. "You are crying." he says while wiping away my tears. "Why are you crying?" he asks. "Because I missed you." I say. "Aww Brooke. We hung out a couple weeks ago though." He says and laughs a little. "But I missed seeing you." I say. "Aww. I missed you too." he says. I hug him again. We just stand there in my door way hugging. "Thank you." I say. "For what?" He says. "For coming here and surprising me." I say. "Anything for you." he says. "I love you." I say. "I love you too." He says. Don't worry. We say I love you all the time as in the friend way. Even though I don't mean it in the friend way. "What time is it?" I ask. "It's 7:15am. We should probably get going." He says. "Okay. I just have to grab my stuff." I say letting go of him. I hate doing that. I get my stuff and go back to Hunter. "Ready?" he asks. "Yep." I say. We decide to just walk, because I live like 10 minutes from the school.
We begin walking. "Soooo how are you?" He asks. "Good... I guess." I say. "What's wrong?" He asks. "Nothing it's just that I really like this boy. He is the sweetest boy I've ever met. He's always been there for me." I say. "So what's bad about that?" he asks. "I don't think he likes me back." I say. "What makes you think that?" he asks. "Because he's my- I just don't think he does." I say. Brooke you almost gave it away. You basically just told him you liked him. "If he doesn't like you then he must be crazy." He says while giving me a side hug. I just laugh. "So how are you?" I ask. "Good... I guess." he says. "What's wrong??" I ask. "I'm in the same situation as you. I like this girl, but I don't think she likes me back. I really want her to like me back tho.." He says. "It's her loss if she doesn't like you." I say. "What's she like?" I ask. "She has this contagious smile. Her laugh is just the best thing I've ever heard. When she laughs I laugh. She makes me so happy." He says. "Awww."I say.
We get to the school. We both go to our lockers. Luckily they are right next to each other. "We are always next to each other I swear." We say at the same time. We both laugh. "See even the school know we're like best friends." he says. I laugh. "BROOKE!!" I hear someone yell. I turn around. It's Kaitlin. "KAITLIN!!!" I yell. She runs up to me. "I missed you." I say and hug her. "I missed you too." She says. "Today is actually a really good first day of school." I say. "First Hunter surprised me and then I see you." I say. "Aha. I need to borrow you real quick." She says. "I'll be right back I guess." I say to Hunter. "Why do you need to borrow me?" I ask. "It's about you. I want you to tell Hunter you like him." She says. I just look at her in shock. "What makes you think I like Hunter? Even if I did like him, it wouldn't matter because he doesn't like me." I say. "For starters you get super happy when he's with you, you blush each time he talks to you, you get so excited when you see him, when someone mentions his name you always listen, you always want to be with him. Oh and, you're wearing the outfit he bought you." She says. I just stand there blushing. "Like I said, he doesn't like me so..." I say. "Chica. Where have you been?!?" She says. "What do you mean?" I ask. "He gets so happy when you come around. When I said I needed to borrow you for a second, he looked a little upset. He always looks at you in class. He most definitely likes you." She says. "I'll think about telling him. Just not right now." I say walking away. "Hey hey hey." I say walking back up to my locker by Hunter. "Hii." He says. "Brookeeeee." I hear someone say. It sounds like Blake. I turn around and it is him "Ewww it's you." I say laughing. "Oh come on you know you love me." He says walking towards us. "Whatever makes you sleep at night sweet cheeks." I say. We all laugh. "Give me a hug." He says. "If I have to." I say and give him a hug. When I give him a hug I look at at Hunter real quick. He looks jealous. Could Kaitlin be right? I start to think. I pull away from the hug and walk over by Hunter. I lean my head on his shoulder. "Hi babe." Blake says to Kaitlin. "Hi baby." She says back. "Babe?!?!? Baby?!?!? What? Since when?" I ask really confused. "Since last week. I was gonna tell you, but I got my phone taken away." Kaitlin says. "Well I'm happy for you guys." I say. "I knew you guys would eventually date." Hunter says. "So when are you guys gonna make it official?" Blake asks looking at Hunter and I. I start blushing hardcore. "We're just friends." We both say at the same time. "Whatever you say." Blake and Kaitlin say. "Sooo what's everyone's schedule?" Hunter says. "I have Gym, Chorus, English, AP Government and Politics, then lunch, Science, Health, and Math." I say. "I have the same schedule." They all say. "Lit lit. I get to have all my classes with meh bestfriends." I say. The bell rings. "Time for Gym." I say. We all begin walking to 1st period.
