It had been a month since Shinra and Celty's wedding. Although the event was very chaotic due to some guests not...getting along, it was a great wedding!
Now Celty was on her way to the shop for some ingredients for a new dish she wanted to make for Shinra. As she sped down the street towards her destination she began to think of when she first met Shinra, how little things began to change.
Everything had been gray, yet when she met Shinra little bits of colour made their way into her life. Small at first, and only ever either something Shinra was wearing or something he had touched has colour at first. Then slowly more things became full of colour, other people in the street, flowers, signs.
Still things went gray sometimes, like if her and Shinra had had a fight then tiny small things would turn gray but they always became filled with colour again. Apparently this happens when you meet your soul mate for some people. Their world would be gray until they met their soul mate.
As Celty pulled up hastily at the shop, she couldn't help but notice a man wearing a gray scarf. Not wierd but for some reason it caught her eye. Mentally rolling her eyes at her worry she entered the shop. Glancing at the list she had written beforehand she raced along the aisles, she didn't know why but she felt anxious.
Then she noticed something, just small little things, like a cereal box being gray which seemed strange. She got frightned when she saw the cashier. They were completely gray. A memory popped into her mind. She stormed out of the shop and sped towards her and Shinra's apartment.
She rushed to the door, which was also gray. Everything was turning gray again. She jumbled with her keys impatiently and swung open the door.
Colour. The inside of the apartment was filled with colour. Celty breathed a sigh of relief, she was just over reacting, her mind was probably playing tricks on her. She mentally scolded herself for rushing home without any of the ingredients and was about to close the door.
A weak whimper sounded from the inside of the apartment. At first Celty barely heard it but then her fear grew ten fold as she bolted into the apartment. She ran in, mentally yelling Shinra's name and stopped. She was frozen, no way was this happening.
Shinra lay on the floor in a pool of scarlet blood, the liquid seeping into the carpet leaving a deep red stain. He was breathing slowly and reached out toward Celty, In obvious pain. Celty kneeled over Shinra and analysed his wound. She tried to stand to get some of Shinra's supplies but was stopped by the underground doctor.
Celty held Shinra close, she tried pressing down the bullet wound on his stomach to slow down the blood, but it still can gushing out of the wound. Damnit there was so much blood she thought to herself. Shinra smiled at her the entire time, even tried to make her laugh, but stopped when the pain became excruciating.
Celty could see in the corner of her vision that the walls and floor of the apartment were slowly turning gray. This couldn't be happening, her and Shinra didn't deserve this. Suddenly Shinra put his hand against Celty's helmet and smiled.
"Don't be sad my dear, it doesn't suit you."
He smiled and adjusted his, now smashed, glasses on his nose. Slowly he sat up and leaned his forehead on Celty's helmet, his immense pain showing through his eyes.
"I honestly hoped it wouldn't end so soon... but all good things come to an end at some point." Shinra winced.
"Some sooner than others." Shinra looked into Celty's helmet sadly. The room was now completely gray, only Shinra remained in colour.
"Honestly I don't know how you fell for a guy like me..."
Slowly Shinra began to lose colour until eventually only his eyes were still colourful.
He took a long pause between his words, he would succum to his injuries soon.Shakely he said. "I'm a nerd. I mean seriously and your...amazing. And i just want to say...." He coughed violently and gently took Celty's hand and kissed it.
"Thank you....so much...for loving ....me."
Shinra's eyes turned gray and the underground doctor collapsed in Celty's arms. Where they both stayed until hours later.
Celty now lived day to day in her gray world. No colour was anywhere to be found since Shinra died. She should have gotten home sooner. She blamed herself constantly since, after all she did know the rumour.
When your soul mate dies, all the colour in the world dies with them.
