The door opens and I hear the sounds of the world of high-school "did you hear what happened between Joe and Kay lin?" Grace, my best friend asks. I shake my head not realy caring but acting the part so Grace won't feel bad. She starts babbling and I zone out, I see Matt, Brett and the rest of the football team at their spot along with the cheerleaders. I see the Wasabi warriors at their spot alone and the Black Dragons on the opposite side of the lockers. I see Frank beckon me closer "gotta go Grace" I tell her before running toward the Black Dragons. They all give me a single nod, I sigh knowing that I won't be able to get a single 'hello' out of them. I smell something new around my right side and turn to that side and see a guy I never saw before standing in the door. I observe him and see an athlete which will do real good in karate, I turn to the rest of the dojo and they all roll their eyes, males. He walks over to a locker near mine and then I turned away and toward the on-coming bell. 3...2...1...RING! I get my bag and jog to History where I had Mr Hanoi, a very strict Chinese man as a teacher. I enter the classroom with a minute to spare and Mr Hanoi isn't here yet. I walk to my seat, third-last seat, first row, we're seated in alphabetical order and my name is Crawford so... I sit down and take out my things which consists of a pencil-case and a hard-cover book about all of the American presidents. I look up as I hear the door open and the short, black-haired, mid 40s china man that walked in is Mr Hanoi, he walks to his desk, observes the students and then nods approvingly "hello students" he says, his Chinese accent shining through. I want to hit this man so bad, he is so strict that even Mrs Danielle is jealous. I mumble a greeting along with the rest if the class "no, no, no a proper greeting" he orders, I send him a glare that he doesn't see. I sit up straight "hello Mr Hanoi" I say fake-attentively along with the rest of the class "better" he says happy with our greeting. I hear a knock at the door and Mr Hanoi sighs "come in!" he yells fake-sweetly and the guy I saw this morning comes in. Mr Hanoi smirks evily "oh class we have a new student" he says with a voice that we all know as the 'about to get humiliated' voice. The guy comes in and looks around the small, cramped classroom until his eyes land on me. He smiles nervously, obviously in discomfort "why don't you introduce yourself" Mr Hanoi suggests with an evil smirk on his face. My eyes widen, knowing exactly what is going to happen, the new kid shrugs and I sigh internally at his naivete. Mr Hanoi smirks even wider and nods, telling him to start " I'm Jack Brewer" He says plainly and I smile. This kid has guts, Mr Hanoi's smirk fades and turns into a dissapointed frown "you may go sit behind Kimberly. Kimberly please raise your hand" he says his dissapointment showing in his voice. I raise my hand, uninterested and Jack comes to me then sits down behind me. I let a small smile come to my face as I hear the thump, thump of someone sitting down on the old, creaky chairs. Mr Hanoi turns to the black board and starts scribbling down something about George Washington. I try to decipher what he's written but I give up after the third word which looks like a cross between the words; born and lemon. I sit and watch as he scribbles down sentence by sentence that I also can't decipher one word of. I feel something touch my hand and grab it instinctively and I grab a folded up paper. I let a small smile come to my face and bring it up 'can you read that? - Jack' is written on the paper in a nice, neat handwriting. I smile and grab my pen and write 'no way, no-one can. I just wait until he reads it and write what he reads- oh by the way I'm Kim'
