I open my locket, an audible click sounding as the golden heart door swung out. Sitting cross legged, I stare at the image, the once happy family; a mother. A father. A son. And a daughter. I feel a warm tear, dripping down my cheek, and I use my cloak to wipe it away, thankful the thin material isn't damaged by water. Absorbed with the photo before me, I fail to hear the snapping of a twig. I fail to hear the rustling of the grass. Just as I fail to hear the twang of a crossbow being fired. A gasp caught in my throat, I slump over, crossbow bolt in the small of my back. Death was coming, I knew it...

My dream was filled with the clashing of metal, the hiss of swords scraping, and the dull thuds of a shield being pounded with attack after attack. At one point, I found myself dreaming that I had woken up, staring up at the sky, which was now filled with stars, and my locket was in the hands of some woman. Before I had time to let myself take in the details, my eyes closed, and another dream began.

A scared little girl wandered the streets. "Mommy? Daddy? Where are you!?" she screamed, sobbing hysterically. She threw herself at the ground, ignoring the pain of the gravel path digging into her skin, and she pounded the ground. "I want mommy!" she wailed, going over the strange events from before.
A crowd had begun to form, and two guards came forward, grabbing her roughly by the arms. She cursed at them, telling them her father would hurt them for that, and a bystander looked at her sympathetically. "Give it up kid. They're dead," one of the guards spat. "No! Liar! They'll be back! You'll see!" the girl shouted, and the crowd grew larger. The guards dragged her away, back to the orphanage she had just ran from.
