Shuichi's Date

Wanted to write something cute and sweet as well as something for my good friend, Ammara. Hope you like it.

The Minamino/Hatanaka family were cleaning up after dinner. Kurama and his younger sister, Sayuri, were helping their mother wash the dishes and put things away.

"Mother, I wanted to tell you that I won't be home for dinner tomorrow." Kurama said, breaking the peaceful silence between the family.

"You won't? Where will you be instead, Shuichi?" Shiori asked, looking to her son who was drying the dishes his sister washed.

"I'm afraid I have to go meet a friend tomorrow night. I'll try not to stay out too late." He replied.

"I trust you, Shuichi. Just be careful being out at night and have fun." She said not questioning his vague answer. He'd always been so trustworthy in her eyes that she knew he wasn't out getting into trouble.

After everything was cleaned up everyone went about their own things for the night. Kurama went to his room to get some school work done, thinking his younger sister was going to do the same, until she appeared in his door, closing it behind her.

"So where are you really going tomorrow?" She asked as she walked over to lean against the desk he was at.

"To meet a friend." He simply replied.

"Shuichi. Your friends are my friends. So who are you meeting?" She asked again causing the fox to sigh.

"I have a date." He admitted, earning a small smile from his sister.

"And who is this mysterious date?" She asked. "Someone I know? You know I have to meet her if I don't already know her." She had only known her brother to date one other girl. He liked her a lot, but she hated Sayuri and wasn't too fond of the rest of the family either. Plus she only liked Shuichi for his looks. Ever since then Sayuri has been very skeptical about any girl that he seemed to take an interest in. She just wanted her brother to have someone who loved him as well as liked being apart of his family.

"You know her, but I won't tell you who it is. She's meeting me around Genkai's late tomorrow afternoon."

"Please don't tell me it's Botan." His sister immediately replied.

"There's nothing wrong with Botan." He defended.

"I know there's not. I like Botan, she's my friend, but she doesn't seem like your type. You need someone who is kind, beautiful, funny, and smart. Someone who's really going to care about you. Someone like... Ammara Kuwabara." Sayuri stated, referring to their good friend Kazuma Kuwabara's twin sister. Sayuri had met her during the Dark Tournament and they became instant friends. And it was no secret to Sayuri that Ammara had feelings for the fox demon.

Kurama couldn't help the small smirk that pulled at his lips at his sister's words. He placed a comforting hand on her arm. "Little sister, you have nothing to worry about. I'm much more careful about who I date after the last time. Besides..." He leaned back in his seat. "I'm quite sure you'll approve of the girl I'm going to be seeing tomorrow."

"Do I get to meet her?" She asked.

"Tomorrow night after you finish supper and your homework, go to the Kuwabara's house. I'll meet you there as I take my date home and we'll all walk the rest of the way together. Sound good?" He asked, his small smirk never leaving.

"Sounds like a plan." Sayuri said.

The next night Kurama wore his nicest pair of jeans and a button up shirt. He was as casual as he would allow himself to dress, but still looked nice. "I'm leaving now mother." He said as he walked into the kitchen where his mother and sister were. The first cooking supper and the second doing homework.
