Chapter 1: A Sad Bunny

        It was a snowy morning. The house was beginning to wake up soon. The sun was slowly rising, causing a dawn light across the sky. Inside the house, a young man is peacefully sleeping in his warm comfy bed. He was comfortably laying on his side, with his bunny ears covering his eyes. Yes you heard! This man isn't an ordinary man. He's quite a hybrid one! He was born half human and half rabbit. He is Caucasian and has black hair. He is quite short for an American. You see, he's only 5'3! He has blue eyes and has a small nose. His name is Jonnie. You might be asking, why can't it be spelt Johnny instead? Because his parents named and spelt it like that. (Back to the story!) He was peacefully snoring quietly. Before you knew it, his household buddy, which is his friend, came running through the door. His friend is also Caucasian. He has dark brown hair and has hazelnut eyes. He is actually quite tall, being 6'1! His name is Bryan. He has been Jonnie's friend since they met in high school! They are now in college. Ever since they met, they have been close friends. So they bought a house together! 

    Bryan suddenly slowly went up to the sleeping hybrid. He bent to his knees and watched his best friend sleep. "Isn't he adorable?", Bryan asked. Bryan liked Jonnie since they first met. He always felt like he should protect Jonnie since Jonnie is quite a sensitive person. Bryan also likes that Jonnie is smart and gets things done but he's mad since Jonnie can't seem to defend himself. Jonnie usually gets bullied and Bryan hates it when his best friend gets home from work crying since everyone makes fun of him and Jonnie's high school bullies go to the same job as Jonnie. He doesn't know why those bullies could just leave Jonnie alone! He always have a thought of confronting them and beating them for Jonnie but he made a promise to Jonnie that he would control his anger and that Jonnie would handle it. 

    After critical thinking, Bryan suddenly snapped back to reality. "You watching me sleep?". Bryan jumped. "Ahhh! I wasn't...", Bryan mumbled. Jonnie sat up and looked at Bryan. "So why were you waiting here? You woke me up...", yawns Jonnie.

    "I-I was going to...wake you up. But I was thinking of how to wake you up without waking you up roughly...So I stayed here!", Bryan replied while shaking a little bit. "Okay?...", Jonnie giggled and got up. "Well...going to take a shower real quick! Can you make breakfast?", Jonnie asked. "Sure! But can I take a shower too! I can join you~", Bryan joked. "S-S-Stop...", Jonnie said while his face turned really red. "I-I'm just going to go...", he said and walked to the bathroom, blushing even more. "Ha...what a cutie", Bryan replied. He then went downstairs to go bake bacon and pancakes.

    He went downstairs and turned on the television. He then switched through all the channels til he went to the news one. "Good morning America! This is channel 7 and we're hoping you a Merry Christmas! Here's what we're broadcasting!", the tv said.  He left it there and started walking to the kitchen. He went into the fridge and saw the pancake mix. He took it out and took the egg carton, which was right next to it. Then he closed the fridge door. He then opened the freezer and took out a pack of bacon. He went to the stove and turned the knob to 110 Fahrenheit. He placed the stuff down on the counter  and started to walk to the pantry. He took out the salt and pepper. "Today the temperature will go around the 30s around 12-1 pm! So we suggest you wear lots of warm clothes and stay warm you guys! Also, there will be a special event at the mall today! It will be around 11 am so tune in for  more later on!", the tv said. The news channel went to some advertisement.  Bryan then went to the egg carton and took out an egg. He got a bowl out from the cabinet and placed it down. He slowly cracked the egg open and let it fall into the bowl. He put some salt in it and placed the salt down. He then started to whisk it til it was all yellowish white. He placed it onto the pan and started to wait for the scrambled egg to be cooked. That scrambled egg would be for Jonnie. He then went to get another pan and placed it right next to the next available burner. He turned the stove on to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. He got the pancake mix and started shaking it. He heard the door from upstairs open and close. Jonnie must be done taking a shower, Bryan thought. He then heard the bedroom door open and close. It then locked. Bryan then started to hover the pancake mix bottle over the pan and squeezed  some out so he can cook some pancakes. He stopped when the amount of pancake mix in the pan is enough. He then heard the lovely sound of sizzling and took out a spatula. He looked over to the scrambled eggs and flipped it. It made a ssss sound and Bryan relaxed to it. All of a sudden, he heard footsteps down the stairs. "Good morning!", Jonnie said. Bryan turned around and said,"Good morning!". Jonnie was wearing a fresh pair of blue jeans with a red jacket that says 'Merry Christmas!'. Jonnie smiled and walked to the table and sat down. 

    "Watcha making?", Jonnie started up. "Making pancakes, bacon and eggs!", Bryan replied. "Yay!", Jonnie chirped and started to look at the tv. Bryan took out another pan and placed it down on another burner. He then turned it on and opened the bacon package. He placed salt and pepper over all of them. But lightly. He knows that he can't put too much because Jonnie is really sensitive to spices. After that he placed the bacon, one by one, on the pan. It made a sizzling sound and started to bubble with grease around it. He turned around and said that the bacon will be done last. Jonnie sighed. "Awww...", Jonnie said sadly. "It's alright! Besides...I've got pancakes!". Jonnie then got happy and sat up straight. Bryan brought up the to pans, carrying the scrambled egg and the other one carrying the pancakes, and placed it on the table. He then went back to get a plate and placed it in front of Jonnie. He placed the scrambled egg and pancake into the plate. Jonnie smiled and smelt the eggs, recieving an ahh from Jonnie's lips. Bryan took the pans back to the stove and started to make a new batch of pancakes and eggs for himself. He went back to get a spoon and fork for his friend and gave it to him. "Thanks!", Jonnie happily said. "You're welcome!", Bryan replied.

    15 minutes after...

   "So where do you want to go?", Jonnie asked while eating his pancakes. "Hmmm...We can go to the mall! The news did say that there is going to be a special event.", Bryan answered while eating his eggs. Jonnie nodded and went back to eating his pancakes. "What time is it?", Bryan asked. Jonnie went to his back pocket and took out his phone. He turned it on and looked at the time. "9:47". "Okay", Bryan said. After that, they had a conversation about Jonnie's job while the TV was on. 

    After they were done, Jonnie took the plates and brought them to the sink. He started to wash them. "Thanks for the breakfast, Bryan!", he said. "You're welcome", Bryan said. He then turned off the tv and headed to Bonnie. "Look who's working hard? Shouldn't they take a rest from work and take some time off?", Bryan said while placing his hand on his best friend's shoulder. Jonnie stopped. His smile turned to a frown and he looked away, making sure his face was not seen by his best friend. He turned off the sink faucet and started to whimper. "Aww come here...lemme me give you a hug!", Bryan said and Jonnie came up to him and started crying. Bryan embraced Jonnie and started to rub his back. "Shhh...Its alright fella...I'm here for you", Bryan said trying to comfort his small buddy. The other was crying into the taller's shoulder and started to tightly hug more. "What's wrong?", Bryan said softly, trying not to force the answer out of the small ones mouth. Jonnie tried to speak but was interrupted by hiccups and tears. "It's alright. You don't have to say it now...Come with me", Bryan said while taking the smaller one's hand to the living room. He then turned off the tv to keep anything from distracting the two. Right now, his friend is in need of help and he needs to make sure that his friend is helped by any way as possible. He then both sat him and Jonnie into the couch. He hugged Jonnie again while patting his back. Jonnie buried his faces into Bryan's chest and all you heard was sniffles. Bryan took his hand and started to pet The little one's bunny ears. Jonnie flinched but started to relax a little. Noticing this, Bryan took note that Jonnie's bunny ears are really sensitive and it is his weak spot. But it relaxed the bunny hybrid immediately. 

    After a couple minutes of doing this, Jonnie fell asleep. Bryan was petting Jonnie's bunny ears while patting his friend's back. He was too, going to fall asleep when Jonnie's phone  started to buzz. That must mean that someone is calling! Bryan reached down and slipped his hand into the rabbit's back pocket and took out the phone. The bunny was lightly snoring and didn't seem to wake up by the phone. Bryan looked at the screen and saw that it said 'Mom'. He quickly answered the phone and placed it on his ear. "Hello, son!", the mom said. "Oh hello! This isn't Jonnie. It's his friend, Bryan! Jonnie is asleep", he replied. "Oh...Well good morning my child! How's it going over there?", asked the mother. "Good!", Bryan lied. "Well...glad to hear that!", the mother said. "Is it okay if we can go hang out? His family wants to hang out with him and you!", the mother asked. "Y-yes! He is your son! And you do have the right to see him! Is it okay if we meet at the mall around 11?", Bryan asked. "Of course! Well, see you later my child!", she said and hung up. Bryan sighed and placed the phone down. He then looked at the sleeping bunny in his chest and legs. He look down at his butt. Dang! He's got some...ass... he thought. He started to put his hand back on the rabbit's waist. He then slowly drifted to sleep.
