~The Christmas Party~

It was noon, Christmas eve, and I sat on my bed, pondering.

''Hopefully nothing goes bad this year..'' I muttered to myself, a bad feeling in the pits of my stomach.

~**~ Luke's Pov ~**~

I ran around my home, putting up decorations. The mistletoe goes here, the wreath above the fireplace, put up the lights...

''God I have a lot to do still..'' I muttered under my breath, ever since my twin, Duke, moved out I've been living alone.

I looked at who I had invited, Sky, Sam, Kate, Haylie, Kyle, Nick, Duke, Chris, and Logan. That's enough people I invited right? Right?

I hope this will be a good year, we've all been working so hard in school. They we're all Seniors in High School, going to the same one, and all being friends.

I checked the time again.

I'm running out of time, I thought to myself.  I continued to run around the home, putting up lights this time, and I grabbed the presents I had wrapped the night before, putting them under the Christmas Tree.

I ran into the kitchen, and started to cook.  I put the Ham and Turkey in the oven, taking out the stuffing, pudding, deviled eggs, Christmas cookies, and cake.

I put them all out in a symmetrical order. I took out the Turkey and Ham, having doubled the heat, checking every minute to see when they were done.

I set them out gently, careful to check them, the Ham and Turkey we're golden brown on the outside, and the normal color on the inside. I sighed in relief.

I check the time once again, my body shaking from how much I panicked and ran.

Good I got done in time, I thought for a moment before the internal screaming began.

I FORGOT THE SPECIAL ORNAMENT ABOVE THE FIREPLACE! I screamed in my thoughts, running to my room.

This ornament was made by all of my friends. It was a reindeer sculpture they had made for me.

I quickly grabbed it, dusting it gently. I walked out of the room, walking to my fireplace, placing it in the middle.

I heard a knock on my door, and checked the time.

Of course someone's gonna be early, I wonder who it is this time. I walked to the door, opening it.

''Hey Luke!'' They said, they're voice full of the holiday spirit. Standing before me was Sky, smiling brightly.

''Hey Sky, C'mon inside.'' I moved out of the way for her to get in the house. She walked inside, and I shut the door behind her.

''You know you arrived early right?'' I asked her, my voice calming down slightly, yet the Christmas cheer was still there.

''Yup!'' She exclaimed happily, while looking around the house. ''Wow nice job on decorating.'' She said, sounding impressed with what I had done.

''Thanks, an- Watch out, you almost stepped under the Mistletoe'' I dragged her backwards.

''Whew, thanks Luke.'' She said, sounding relieved she hadn't stepped under it. ''No problem,'' I said in reply. ''Go ahead and look around I'm gonna wait for the others to arrive.'' I said calmly, walking back to the door, while she looked around the home.

''Oh you can put you're stuff under the tree, or on the couch,  I put up!'' I shouted to her as she started to walk away. I saw her put her stuff down under the tree, and continue to explore.
