~ Uno & Presents ~

~The snow fell as the sun went down, making it sparkle~

''I'm not gonna give up on this, no matter the cost'' I muttered to myself, running a hand threw the blanket.

~**~ Luke's Pov ~**~

Everyone gathered around, watching me and Kyle dominate the matches we had set up. Currently the score was 4-3, game-point for us. My focus remained on the screen and the words Kyle said. As in telling me where they were if he saw them.

After a good 10 minutes we had finally won. Kyle let out a loud whoop, smiling brightly, Duke and Logan sulked slightly at the lost, hiding their smiles.

I grinned before I checked the time.

Lord time flies by when you're having fun.

We conversed with each other, the atmosphere around us was homey. It couldn't make me happier.

I turned off the Ps4, while everyone sat around on the couches, some talking, some preparing to play Uno.

My gaze shifted to Kate, Sky, and Chris. The shuffling of cards that's about to ruin some friendships.

I walked up to them, smiling. " Hey guys mind if I play? " Chris looked up at me, a wolfish grin on his face, " Sure, if you're prepared to lose."

A smirk settled upon my face, " Get ready, because this game is about to destroy some friendships."

Sitting down in a seat he began handing out cards.

I got 1 of each color, a +4, a skip, and a +2 also sat in my deck. The skip was blue and the +2 was green.

The card on top of the draw pile was flipped, revealing itself to be red. I could work with this.

Chris went first, placing down a red 3. Sky then placed down a red 7. Kate looked deep in thought before she placed down a red +2.

I let out a mock gasp of hurt before she spoke, " Sorry, but I have plans to win. " She smiled, but I only smirked in return.

My hand drew a card and placed the green +2 on top of her's. Now it was Chris's turn to be shocked.

I snickered at his expression while he drew 4 cards. Sky placed down a green 5, after she placed that Kate placed down a green 6. 

I thought for a moment before I placed down my green 4.

Chris looked a little salty at being in last while he put down a green 3. 

The game proceeded casually, switching colors with wild cards every now and then.

Finally I was down to 2 cards, my +4 I had since the beginning and a red 8.

" Guys watch out, Luke only has 2 cards, watch what you put down." Chris warned while he placed down a blue 9.

They gained a concentrated look while I simply smirked at the small panic I had them in.

Sky placed down a blue 6, then it was Kate's turn. Her turn determined if I would win.

Moments past before she slowly took out a card. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath before I opened them to see what she had placed.

A blue 8 was at the top of the deck. A blank expression took over my face as the information went through my brain.

They thought my blank face was a look of defeat, grinning at the thought they had prevented my win.

That crumbled as a grin made its way onto my face. They froze seeing the grin.

"..Uno." I spoke calmly, placing the red 8 down.

I could see the pain in their eyes at the thought of losing.

I laughed on the inside at their broken looks.

When it came to my turn again, I threw the +4 card onto the top of the pile.

" What was that about winning?" I teased, a smirk playing on my lips.

Kate pouted at the tease, knowing it was directed to what she said earlier.

" I call hacks." Chris suddenly said, placing a hand on the table.

What, Chris this is real life there can be no hacks in a card game.

Sky beat me to voicing that thought, telling him that unfortunately my victory was real.

" Aw, don't sulk children, losing the to King of Uno is no big deal, do you need a cupcake to cheer yourselves up?" I grinned, knowing that the 'King of Uno' thing was a tease, but a brag at the same time.

Sky let out a groan of despair, her head hitting the table.

I chuckled lightly before walking into the kitchen. Grabbing a plate I placed 4 cupcakes on it before walking back.

Placing the plate on the table they each grabbed one.

A smile formed on my face before I silently walked away, going to sit on the couch. 

" Hey do you guys wanna go ahead and do presents?" I spoke up, gaining everyone's attention.

A squeal came from right beside my ear, making me flinch. Turning around there stood Logan.

He mumbled a quite apology before he sat on the floor, even though there was an open spot on the couch.

Well I guess the floor is a good piece of furniture and a good sitting place as well.

I stood up once more, passing out the gifts to everyone.

In the end there was at least 5 gifts to everyone, I assume some people had worked together for some of the gifts.

Everyone began to open their gifts, including me.

After a few minutes everyone was done opening gifts. I scanned over everything I had gotten, 50 dollars, a Ps4 controller charger, a watch, a new Ps4 game, and a promise ring.

A bright smile graced my lips, everyone thanking each other for the presents.

This really did feel like home, like a family.

Even though Duke and I were actually family, but still.

I looked outside the window, watching the snow fall. When my eyes landed on the road, I was honestly a little shocked.

Well looks like everyone might be stuck here for a while longer then anticipated.

~**~ The snow outside crunched, footsteps being made somewhere, unnoticed by the rest, as it went and crawled, and stopping somewhere, in the middle of no-where. ~**~
