I was awoken by the noise of my alarm and frantically searched with my hand for my phone on my bedside table to turn the infuriating noise off. We had lived here for over three weeks now and I had somewhat settled in, although school was a completely different matter. Today was my first day of eighth grade. I poured myself a bowl of cereal and then got myself ready. My hair was being uncooperative as usual so I eventually decided to throw it up in a ponytail. I took a look in the mirror. Vivid green eyes and a heart-shaped face framed by two sandy coloured pieces of unruly hair. I wasn't exactly happy with my appearance but it would have to do as I was late.
