I suggest you play the song on the side.

 “Trick-or-Treat!”

For at least the 100th time that night, my doorbell rang and the little child behind the door recited the famous line. I got up, with a groan, making my way to the door before they left. Picking up the bowl once filled with candy, seeing it now held very little. I quickly jumped to the door and opened it seeing a little girl and boy, no more then five or six, standing next to each other.

"Trick-or-Treat!" they sung again, smiling, both of them missing teeth in a few places. I leaned against the door frame and smiled back.

"And who might you to be?" I asked and their smiles seemed to brighten. They looked like siblings, twins maybe, the light was pretty bad though so I might be wrong. I glanced up and saw their parents standing at the end of the drive way, chatting.

"I'm Woody!" the little boy said, lifting his cowboy hat, trying to charm me. "and I'm Jessie!" the little girl chimed in, doing something between a jump and a wiggle. I giggled at her has her hat blew off and she chased it a few feet, before grabbing it and placing it back on her head; two braids hanging down below her chin.

"Well I think that you guys look so great that I'm going to give you all the rest of my candy!" I said and they cheered yes! I looked in the bowl to see two bags of chips, about eight little chocolate bars and a few packs of gummies. I, as equally as possible, gave then the remainder of my candy and they skipped off happily, after thanking me.

I watched as they ran to their parents and started to the next house. Flipping the porch light off and closing the curtains I returned to my paused movie, picking up my popcorn.

After some time, my second movie ended and I went to the kitchen to wash up my bowl and cups. I looked at the clock on the oven and it said '11:39pm' in big blue numbers. I started heading up the stairs to my room when the doorbell rang.

Strange, I thought at first. Then I thought that maybe it was a group of stupid teenagers. I looked out the peek hole and saw a dark figure standing there. I was a little frightened so I picked up an umbrella then unlatched the door. Slowly opening it, my arm ready to swing my weapon at the person, I saw that no one was actually there.

"I guess I imagined something..." I said as I closed the door, re-locking it and placing my umbrella back down.

This time I ran up the stairs to my room, closing the door to my bedroom too. I got undressed and put on some shorts and a tank top, then climbed into bed. Laying there on my phone I realized that I didn't wash my face yet. Groaning, again, I got up, trudged down the hall and into the bathroom.

As I flicked on the light, blinking to adjust to the brightness, I heard something coming from my room. I looked down the hall, and my eyes landed on the open window in my room, the wind blowing the curtain around. I guess the wind knocked something down, maybe it was the water pipes making mechanical noises. I shrugged it off and washed my face, brushed my teeth and did a few awkward dance moves in between. I ran back down the hall, and crashed into my bed like a five year old. I erupted into giggles before burrowing below my duvet.

Just as I was dozing off, a loud bang made me shoot up. I scanned the room frantically and saw my door was now closed. My eyes widened in shock, my brain comprehending that the wind was a small breeze and couldn't close the door. I slowly got up, my body stiff and the duvet coming with me as I investigate.

I walked over to the door and opened it slowly. The house was silent, I could hear the fridge running downstairs and a dog barking in a house on the street. 'Nothing to be worriedabout.' I thought as I pushed it open further and turned to head back to my bed. That's when I saw it.

The thin curtains on my window. The full moon, extra creepy on Halloween. The shadow of a person resting on my window pane. My heart was in my throat, my hands were sweating and clammy. 'This can't be happening. You're overtired.' I blinked a few times and it disappeared. Before I could realize it, I was walking towards the window, my eyes looking for anything to explain the shadow. The window was still open but the breeze and trees were still, it was really scary. Right as I reached the window, it slammed shut. I screamed and a huge gust of wind pasted my frantic body. I turned again to get ready to run out of the house but slammed into what felt like a wall.

I stumbled back and landed on the floor, my vision fuzzy and I was dizzy. I started to move to get up and that's when I settled upon the pair of black boots, standing no more then a foot away from me. I froze and my eyes began there descent on the owner of the boots, legs, torso, shoulders and red eyes.

Red Eyes?

I screamed again and the persons stance jumped for a split second. All I could think of was that this was some freak that broke into my house and was trying to rob me or kill me. All this was faltered by the red eyes, I'm pretty sure its impossible to have red eyes and not be a demon, which aren't suppose to exist.

I quickly scrambled to my feet and backed away, only to have the person follow me until I was against the wall, no where left to go.

"Do you remember when you were little, and you would smell the delicious food, being cooked by your mom?"

I made this weird choking sound as I felt my breath hitch at his voice. It was deep and had this evil tone, making me shiver and want to scream out for help.

"Or have you ever smelt a really good flower or the air after its just rained?"

He took a step closer to me and I brought my arms up to my chest in an attempt to keep myself calm. His shoulders were big and square. He was at least almost a foot taller than me, his head was above mine and he had a visible advantage on my size.

"That's how you smell, I've been dreaming about you for days. From miles away, just have to have a try."

...............................................................

Her ear piercing scream could be heard for miles, to them. They knew he had found her, he had gotten his fill. She tasted amazing, he couldn't use words to describe it, and didn't have too. They knew she would just from her smell. Halloween was the perfect cover for them, everyone is disguised and it was there chance, his chance, to find her.

He didn't know how to stop himself, he was in a euphoric state, her blood rushing over his tongue and feeding his fire. He had to stop himself before he drained her. He couldn't.

Just as her limp body started to feel too light he dropped her to the floor, a few more drops of her blood landed on the carpet. He immediately flew down to smell it, and they knew he had done damage to there cover. They try so hard to control this side of themselves, but every year have one massive binge day. Halloween.

Within seconds they were surrounding her lifeless body on the floor, a pulse was barely heard through there ears and there eyes barely saw her chest rise and fall, each time weaker than the rest. He hadn't killed her, he did change her life. He made her the one thing he can't handle...
