Chapter two
"Nope." I shrugged and my eyes pleaded "sorry."
"Wow, I'll bet you haven't heard of Greek/roman mythology?" He said.
I squinted my face in a thinking kind of way. "We'll I've heard of Aphrodite, Zeus, and Neptune."
"Poseidon." He corrected. The boat rocked violently. He held his hands up to surrender. "Okay, Neptune whatever."
I lifted my eyebrow as if to say "what?"
"Oh the gods have two forms. A Greek form; Zeus, Hera, hades, Poseidon, etc. And a roman form; Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, etc." He explained. I noticed the way he moved his hands when he talked, it was kind of cute.
"I know I know, you can't get enough if the mcshizzel man." He must've noticed me staring at him. "But I'm taken, kind of." He lowered his head and a sad look filled his face. I scooted closer to comfort him.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." He said.
"Seriously, what is wrong?" He stormed up and his hands blazed of fire. Literally his hands blew up in flames. "Oh my god!" I screamed to grab a blanket.
"-s-" he added then looked at his arms. "Oh, heheh right." His hands stopped blazing. "What the heck just happened?" I said clearly freaked out.
"It's a child of Hephaestus thing, some gifted kids can, catch fire and, well you saw." He blushed.
"Are you, like, fireproof?" I asked.
"Yeah, I guess." He shrugged.
"Sorry, for flipping out. I just don't like talking about it. My friends just got out of Tartarus last year-"
"Wait, Tartarus as in the big pit in the underworld that held Kronos?" Shock swarmed my face.
Leo smiled. "So you do know. And not exactly. You see half of the gate is in the underworld, the other half is well-"
"In our world?" I asked.
He laughed. "It's called the mortal world. We'll for yiu, muttle." He rolled his eyes.
"Is that like a dog breed or something?" I asked.
He bursted into a laughing fit.
"A dog breed? You have so much to learn at the Academy." He clutched his stomach.
"You dear, are too much." He began to cry in laughter. I frowned.
"Sorry." He wiped his tears.
"Muttles are basically regular humans. You can call them regulars but muttle has a 'doggy' effect." He laughed again.
"What are they?" I asked.
"They're not hounds I can tell you that. They're muggles, and mortals. So basically, regular bloodedkn humans." He chuckled.
The boat tipped. "Is it supposed to tip like that? Please tell me it's just poseptune, neseidon. What ever his name is."
"Poseidon, and sadly we have something more dangerous on our hands." He grabbed vials of green.
"What are those?" I asked nervous.
"These my friend," he flipped the fials. I flinched.
"Are Greek fire." He smiled and raided the deck.
Immediately I wished I hadn't gone up there. A sea monster swam viciously around the ship, causing it to rock. I slammed into the side and fell clutching my head. "Oh Poseidon help me!" Leo pleaded to the sky. He noticed me flailing on the ground.
