I sat up. Heavy breathing filled my room.

Ahahaha, oh Lenox, you think your powers will save you? If you learn anything at this school it's that it makes you more vulnerable to death. To me.

"Who are you?" I yelled.

Your worst enemy. You won't know who I am at first, but the monsters should remind you.

"Show yourself." I said.

I was unarmed.

"Festus Jr. Blade." I said.

Festus flew over and strapped to my hand.

"Cool." I whispered.

I cannot show myself, I'm merely a shadow. But soon, soon Lenox, I will rise with the worst of the worst, and you will never live to see the day.

"What if I defeat you?" I said.

You'll never defeat me. hahahahahahah!

"You shouldn't believe that. I'm capable of more than you think." I said.

How would you know, your parent is still too ashamed to claim you.

You don't even know your own blood.

He was right. I didn't know my godly parent.

"That won't stop me." I shook away the thought.

It should, you don't know your own strength.

My mood dampened.

No, no Lenox, this is just a trick.

I stood still and closed my eyes.

My world went black and I pushed all my strength into nine Words.

"Go away. Leave this compound I'll fight you later."

The room lightened and I turned around.

"Oh. My. Gosh." A girl and a boy stood in the door way clapping.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Why I'm Seth grownley." The bit said.

"I'm Lilly comberling." The girl said.

"Lenox... Mara..." I was dazed.

"Your an amazing singer. How did you do that, and who were you talking too."

"I don't sing hah, I don't know and I wasn't talking to anyone." I said.

"Were your roommates. Well I actually sleep in that closet due to privacy issues... Her..." Seth glared at Lilly.

"Um, okay?" I said.

"Oh your the newbie." Lilly said.

"Duh?"

"What's that." She walked over and tapped the box.

"No!" Too late, festus uncurled into a dragon and flew around the room.

"HOLY HEPHAESTUS!" Seth followed the dragon around.

"Festus box!" I yelled.

It folded up and fell into my hand.

"Where... How... What?" Lilly was astonished.

"Leo gave him to me, he's kinda like an everything." I said tucking the box on the shelf.

"Wait, Leo Valdez? Like the Leo Valdez?" Lilly again was smiling.

"Aphrodite girls, ugh."

"Wait, am I an Aphrodite child? Is that why your rooming with me?" I asked.

"Oh no, you room with anyone, kinda. They ran out of room so us three are the extras. I'm a child of ares, like frank." Seth smiled.

"Who?" They both gawked.

"Frank zhang... Legendary child of ares... He's roman..." Seth said.

"Nope..." I shrugged.

"Gods, you have so much to learn. Anyways who's your godly parent?" Lilly said.

"I don't know. I'm unclaimed."

"That's sad, how old are you?"

"14."

They winced.

"Oh someone didn't live up to Percy's promise..." Seth sing songed.

"Whos Percy?" I asked.

They gasped.

"Only the cutest, most perfect, amazing in battle,"

"Taken by annabeth." Seth interrupted her.

"Shh, guy ever." She was off in her own world.

We laughed.

"They'll teach you everything you need to know tomorrow. I'm sure Leo will teach you the basics."

We climbed into our beds.

Well at least I have friends.

And a new mortal enemy.

The question was, why were they after me? Why not another Origional? Was this like a basic training for all Origionals?

"Hey, why are we called Origionals anyway?" I asked.

"Because, were the first people to mix. The people who think they know everything, we call them muttles, call us Demi-wizards... Pansycakes they are..." She snorted.

"Lilly!" Seth sat up.

"What? Oh crap!"

"Pansycake? Sounds good." I smiled.

"No, it's something us people from a secret foundation, call muttles. We are called divergent. It's when someone is claimed under more than one god. It's extremely rare. And Lilly and I are one of them."

"Wait what?" I asked.

"Divergence is rare because you can only have one godly parent, but sometimes genetic info from the wizard, who was probably an Origional, gets passed on too the child and well, divergence is made."

"What gods are you then?" I asked.

"I'm Aphrodite and poseiden. Weird pairing." Lilly laughed.

"Ares and hades... But I'm not some mean goth child."

"If anything he's too happy." Lilly said.

What if I was this so-called divergent. A mix of gods and wizard... Why was this all confusing.

That's how Origionals were made. To confuse you, and to make it easier for me to find you, and rid of your kind.
