Pup and the Alpha King

Morning Run

Diana's POV

Today is my seventeenth birthday and I want to go for my solo run, my dad promised me. My name is Diana Jackson and I am the daughter of Alpha Lex Jackson of the Midnight Moon pack. We are a small pack compared to others that have over 200 members. Where we have only about sixty in our pack. But we are a very close pack and everyone can fight to protect the young ones.

Even me, though I am the size of a pup myself covered in black fur with yellow/amber eyes. When I was a pup a hunter's scientist injected me with a serum so that I could not shift back to my human form. So I don't even know what my human form looks like and neither does anyone else. My dad always tells me though that I'd look just like my mum in my human form.

The scientist is still alive only so he can help find a cure for my condition. Because there were unseen side effects from injecting me when I was only a week old and hadn't shifted into my human form. One being it effected my growth rate, because I should be a full grown werewolf now. Except I am still the size of pup after their first shift after birth at ten years old. My dad has even sent a sample of my blood and the serum to the royal pack for their doctors to look at it.

My dad is always babying me because of it even though I can fight. Beta Clark taught me how to use my size to my advantage in a fight against full grown wolves. I've even pinned him a few times without him going easy on me. Much to my father's disapproval as he believes I'm not strong enough for such rough training.

But I proved him wrong two years ago when I had had enough of the babying and pinned him down. So he promised that when I was seventeen I could go for a run on my own. That is want I am doing now as I leave the house not eating breakfast.

I was about to run into the forest when someone picked me up in their jaws gently. Before placing me down in front of them as they faced me. I saw it was my dad's brown/black wolf with a white spot on his chest. 'Where do you think you're going in such a hurry?' he asks through the pack mind link.

'For a run, you promised I could today as I am now seventeen' I remind him.

'Not without breakfast you aren't' he states firmly.

'I was planning on hunting dad' I tell him.

'Ok, but be careful and stay on the path I marked for you' he tells me as he licks my head fondly.

'Yes daddy' I say nuzzling into his chest before running off into the forest wagging my tail. Gemma my wolf alerted me to a rabbit near by so I crouched low to the ground as I waited. My Dad's wolf's name is 'Streak' and Beta Clark's is called 'Blaze'. When the rabbit got close enough I pounced and killed it quickly, before eating it. Afterwards I was thirsty so I follow my nose and find a small stream.

After drinking my fill I decided to go for a swim and jumped in splashing.  Soon I get tired and lay in the shallows as it was getting hot out. However, it is soon time for me to return to the pack house. Apparently we will be having guests from an other pack visit us today. Not just any pack, but the royal pack. Their future alpha and king of our kind is looking for his mate.

My friends Ginny and Ariel told me how he is the cutest/hottest guy in the werewolf world. Ginny and Ariel are identical twins with their red hair & dark blue eyes. Their wolves also look alike but there are a few differences in their personality. Ginny's wolf name is 'Rose' and Ariel's is 'Ruby'. They are Beta Clark's daughters and have yet to find their mate. But they want find them until they turn seventeen and they are only sixteen.

There was going to be a party tonight for my birthday and where I might find my mate. But I doubt it as I didn't smell him this morning when I left the pack house. So unless one of the guests from the royal pack happen to be my mate, I won't find him today. I have never really had a boyfriend before or gone on a date due to my condition. But it doesn't stop me from admiring the ones I find good looking.

When I get home dad is there waiting and gives me an amused look as I am still wet from my swim. "Go inside, Julie will give you a bath so you don't smell like a wet dog tonight" he tells me. I nod my head and went inside with him following me. "Our guests will be here in an hour" he states before heading to his office. I went to my bathroom where Julie was waiting for me.

Julie is Beta Clark's mate and the mother of Ginny & Ariel. She has been the mother figure in my life as my real mother died when I was very young. She was pregnant at the time with Ariel and Ginny so she nursed me as her own. When I reached a month old my dad tried to encourage me to shift. But I couldn't do it and I was still very small for a month old alpha pup. I was the size of a week old alpha pup instead, that is when they (the pack and scientist) released that the serum had affected my aging.

Werewolves give birth in their wolf form and nurse the pups. Until they reached a month old and then encourage them to shift into their human form. Where they around the size of a one year old baby. They then don't shift again until they are ten for an alpha pup, twelve for a beta or gamma pup and thirteen - fifteen for a pack wolf pup. There are no omegas in packs anymore as it is illegal to make wolves omegas. But the age for finding a mate is the same for all wolves which is seventeen and older.
