"Camila hurry up we're going to be late!" Camila awoke to a loud voice that sounded like Lauren.
Camila rolled over in her bed grabbing her phone off the charger. She clicked the screen on, the time read 6:40. She groaned internally and rolled her eyes. She had slept through her alarm again. Today the girls were going to the studio to continue working on their new album for 2016.
Camila began going through her messages when she spotted one from Taylor.Taylor -
Hey girl, I have a show tonight in town! I was wondering if you want to come? XxCamila -
Oh my god of course I would love to come I was actually thinking about this last night but I fell asleep xxTaylor -
Yes! Meet me at 5 at the stadium?Camila -
Okay I'll call you when I get there"Camila! Let's go!"
Camila shot straight up out of her bed and began to strip herself and find some clothes to wear. She decided on a green jump suit. Once she was ready she grabbed her phone, and her laptop before running downstairs. Once she was outside she found Lauren standing next to their car waiting for her.
"About time! Now we're late! Let's go." They both jumped into the car, Lauren sat in the front seat whilst Camila pulled out her laptop and sat by herself in the back.
The small car space consisted of a comfortable silence for most part of the trip. Every now and again Camila caught Lauren stealing a glance at the younger girl in the back. She chose to ignore the silence and plugged her ear phones into her laptop opening the lid to a black screen.
The truth was that Camila had been up to the early hours of the morning crouched in the bathroom, with her laptop on the toilet lid writing lyrics. And of course on twitter, which she tried to avoid most of the time because there's just a big chance her feelings will get hurt and she would spend the day upset. That's all that had been happening the past few months.
She clicked on a key which made her screen light up to a music program. She had been cutting beats and different sounds all night, making notes of lyrics on her phone and strumming chords on her guitar.
Camila spent most of her time listening, writing and producing music. It was her passion, and everyone knew it. Whilst everyone else was partying or hanging out she was in her hotel room, bunk or just on the couch writing. Even if she wasn't writing lyrics it was poems or sentences to be used later for something. She wrote down anything that sprung to her mind.
She tapped away on the key board, shifting around cuts of guitar recordings. A smile across her face as she nodded her head to the sound playing through her earphones. Lauren must have seen this movement in the corner of her eye turning her head and raising her eyebrow.
"What are you listening to Camz?" She had a confused look on her face.
Camila looked up to her spinning the laptop around to her and giving her the earphones.
She waited in anticipation of her reaction to the music.
She began to get worried when her facial expression didn't change. Maybe what she had done want very good? She didn't care, it was all just practice really.
"Wow." Lauren had a stunned look on her face. "That is really good! Is that yours? When did you make this?"
A sigh of relief escaped from Camila's mouth.
"Yeah it is, I've been working on it for a while." Camila took the computer back and closed the lid.
"You should really show the rest of the girls that! It's really good we might be able to use it for the album."
"Uhhh, yeah sorry it's... it's sort of just for me, only practice, I don't think it will suit our style that we're going for." Camila looked down to her lap biting her lip and fiddled with her ear phones.
"Oh, yeah I guess not. But it's still really good." Lauren frowned at the girls response, she knew something was up. She didn't understand why she didn't at least want to let the girls listen to it. Lauren decided to drop it for now, but she made a very big mental note of the conversation.
Once the arrived at the studio they would be working at for the day, they both jumped out of the car and rushed into the building.
"You two are so late! Hurry up we should have been started half an hour ago!"
"Sorry Ally, I guess Camz here had a big night." Lauren smiled at Camila and shook her head.
"Camila you knew you had to be here early. What were you doing?" Ally had all of the girls attention now, and she wasn't letting it go by the tone of her voice. Lauren felt guilty, maybe she should have just left it alone.
"I- uhh.. just couldn't sleep that's all." Camila shyly walked towards Will and asked what room she was in for recording. He pointed her to the far door which she took as her exit from the glaring eyes that were burning a hole in the back of her head.
"Lauren what's with her lately?" Normani spoke up.
"Look I think she's just been having a hard time lately. Give her a break alright. She just needs some time." Lauren followed Camila's actions and made her way to the room Will directed her to.
"I'll go check on Walz I have a break scheduled first up." Dinah placed a hand on Ally's shoulder giving her a smile.
Dinah entered the studio to find Camila sitting on the floor leaning against the black couch, rubbing her eyes with her left hand. Her phone hanging freely in her right hand.
"Woah. What's wrong Walz?" Dinah made her way over to the small girl on the floor.
"Ah nothing don't worry... it's nothing." She got up totally dismissing the girl towering over her.
"Well there's obviously something wrong. What were you looking at?" Dinah snatched the phone from Camila's hand. As soon as she saw what was on the screen she sighed. The screen displayed Camila's recent Instagram post. All that could be seen was the hate flooding her comments section.
"Walz. You can't keep looking at this. I know how much it hurts you. We've talked about this." The taller girl pulled Camila into her arms and squeezed her in a tight embrace.
"I know. But it's every where. Anyway don't worry, let's just get started." Camila grabbed the iPad from the desk in front of her and entered the booth to sing a few of her parts for a song called 'Scared of Happy'.
Her eyes were filled with sadness as she sang her first line. But she changed he lyrics,
"Just give me one good reason, drop everything and leave. Seconds away from turning this car back around.'
Form some reason Dinah grew even more concerned at these words. Was she thinking of quitting? Was she about to do something stupid and leave because of all the hate she had been receiving lately? She knew there was something going on with her, and she wanted to find out.
Once Camila was finished she hung her headphones on the microphone and exited he booth. Her eyes were gloomy and it looked like she was almost on the verge of breaking down. She hadn't notice it before but Dinah suddenly saw the dark circles under her eyes which made it look like she hadn't slept properly in weeks.
"You okay?" Dinah broke the silence.
"Yeah. I'm fine, can we go get some air?" Camila questioned.
"Of course we can. Let's go, there's a coffee shop just next door.
Dinah escorted the smaller girl outside of the building and into the coffee store. She ordered them both a drink before sitting down in the corner.
"So. Tell what's actually going on." Dinah placed her hand over Camila's on the top of the table.
Camila diverted her gaze not wanting to look her in the eyes. "Come on, you can't fool me Walz. Spill. Now."
Camila sighed before finally speaking.
"Okay, well I guess it's... just that I'm sick of everyone attacking me, for nothing. I feel like I'm drowning from the inside, like I'm suffocating. And about the music. It's not that I don't like the songs we are producing for the album, it's just not me. But it is you guys, so I'll do whatever I have to. It's whatever I guess."
"Hey, look at me. Let's talk about it then, I'm right here." Dinah smiled looking her directly in the eyes. And thats when Camila knew it was genuine, not like how it had been the last few weeks.Sorry I don't proof read , hope it's okay
