Alex was outside her house sitting on the front steps the day after she moved to California. It was about noon and she saw a boy who looked about her age walk out of the house across the street. He had his iPod unplugged. He was listening to her favorite song, Not The American Average by Asking Alexandria. He looked up as soon as he closed the door and locked eyes with her and smiled. Her heart basically melted. She smiled back. A few seconds later he rode away on a skateboard. About twenty minutes later she got up and walked down the street to the board walk to see if there was any good stores. When she wasn’t paying attention she walked into someone. “oh sorry, I wasn’t paying attention and-”she babbled, but he cut her off “no it was my fault”. When she looked up she was in complete shock. It was the boy from across the street. He was tall and had dark brown hair and crystal blue eyes. “My names Alex” she offered. “My names Jordan. Hey didn’t you just move into the house across the street from me?” he asked. “yeah I think you’re the one I saw with the skateboard. Not to sound weird.” she said “yeah that was me” he said smiling. “do you want to walk with me? Maybe I could show you around?” he asked “sure. Id like that” she replied.

They walked and talked about everything until it started to get dark. Then they walked on the beach until around midnight. They exchanged numbers. He walked her to her door and kissed her goodnight. When she walked inside she ran up to her room. Her mom was working over night at the hospital and she didn’t have a dad. She collapsed on her bed and wouldn’t stop smiling. She knew she was finally in love.
