It was four o’clock. Jordan was going to pick her up at six. She ran to get ready. She put on her pants that looked like the were rolled up to below her knees and her favorite dressy purple tank top with her black bikini underneath and black flip-flops just in case. Her hair was in a ponytail and her bangs were clipped back. When he showed up he was wearing a plain blue t-shirt and black shorts with Adidas sandals. His flippy skater hair perfect. “you look amazing” he said smiling. “thank you. You don’t look so bad yourself” she said blushing when they started walking he held her hand, fingers intertwined. When they got near the boardwalk he told her to just jeep going straight. She realized they were going to the beach. When they got there, she saw he had a blanket laid out with towels and an extra blanket on top. She couldn’t help but smile. “wanna go for a dip?” he asked “sure” she said still smiling. They stripped down to their bathing suits and walked down together. They swam for what seemed to be forever. When they got back to the blanket they sat down close to each other and he put his arm around her. Everything was absolutely perfect. When they were dry they went on the boardwalk and got an ice cream. Then since it was only 10:00 they went back to Alex’s house and watched a scary movie. Her mother would return at 11:00 and she could finally meet the boy her daughter had met and had grown to love so quickly. When they paused the movie to get drinks he came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, whispered “I love you” and kissed her. She smiled, turned and whispered “I love you too” kissing him back. She looked at the clock. It was almost eleven. Her mom would be home soon and there was a boy with no shirt on and she was only wearing her shorts and sports bra. She ran upstairs, grabbed a shirt and told him he had to put his shirt on. When he asked why she said her mom was going to be home any minute. He hurried to put it back on. Then they sat on the couch and played the movie, his arm around her. Her mom walked in and said “who’s this?” “Jordan, mom. This is Jordan. He lives across the street.” she replied. Quickly. “well alright. But why is he in my living room. No offense, of course.” Alex didn’t know what to say. “I took your daughter to the boardwalk earlier and then we came back here and watched a movie” Jordan said, trying to sound as polite as he could. Her mom looked shocked. “was it like.. A date?” “yes.” Alex replied her mom softened her gaze. “as long as you treat my girl right I’m okay with this.” They were completely shocked. “thanks mom?” she said. Her mom nodded and said if he needed to spend the night he could. As long as they weren’t in the same bed. They laughed and agreed. She fell asleep with her head on his shoulder. He carried her to her bedroom and laid her on her bed. Then he went to lay down in the recliner in her room. She woke up. “you can sleep with me, you know. She has to leave early in the morning to complete her paperwork at the hospital. She never comes in my room in the morning she just leaves a note on the counter. that’s what we agreed to.” he smiled, got up, and laid down next to her. He wrapped his arms around her told her he loved her and went to sleep with her hugging his chest.
