Second Class Disaster

  I open the door to the social room (or whatever it's called), and make my way to my seat, late again causing everyone to stare at me. I lift my chin and stalk to my seat on the hard ground as Piper clears her throat, flashing a friendly smile in my direction. "Welcome Nico how are you?"
I shrug, examining my shoe as I pick at the small hole on the bottom of the heel.
"Looks like you have an Achilles heel" I look up at Annabeth who's staring at my shoe. "Better keep an eye on that" she adds, returning to her book. I blink in confusion. Um what?
  "Well let's get today started shall we?" Piper chirps with an overly sweet smile. "We are going to play a game called capture the flag." I roll my eyes.
  "Now I know we don't have many people but it'll be fun I promise" she finishes, rising from her pillow and opening the door. "Come on"
   I groan but get up, squinting as the sun decided to blind me so I run into the person in front of me. Said person yelps and stumbles into another person. "Woah! Dude, Frank, you okay?" Percy asks, steadying him.
  "Yeah thanks Percy" Frank replies.
   I look up, suddenly interested. "Frank?" I ask hesitantly. Unfortunately, that was a bad idea.
   Percy grins, "So the silent one speaks! It's a miracle"
   Frank smiles painfully, probably a little embarrassed. "Hey Nico"
  I smile a little, "I heard you've been I contact with Hazel" I say awkwardly. Another mistake.
  "Ooooh Frank's got a girlfriend" Leo asks, nudging Frank with his elbow whilst walking backwards. I roll my eyes and Frank flushes, "No...?" He says, though it sounds more like a question and I raise my eyebrow.
  "No" he says more certainly. I can't help but smirk. Is it bad that I like to scare people?
  Percy laughs, and suddenly someone puts an elbow on his shoulder, almost knocking the green eyed teen over. "Alright losers what am I missing?" The elbow belongs to a girl with spiky pitch black hair with electric blue streaks (I don't know if the streaks are accurate but I think so...) that match her eyes. Her clothes are mostly black making her seem punk, and I can't help thinking that maybe someone here will get my style.

    "Leave them alone Thalia, you're so nosy" Jason calls teasingly before returning to his conversation with Piper. She unsurprisingly ignores him.
  "I'm Thalia by the way, in case you weren't paying attention that first day you kicked the doors down very dramatically, and I doubt you were" she says with a smirk. I scowl and look ahead, longing for silence. Percy is about to say something but Piper interrupts, and we all turn our attention to her as she explains the game. I zone out for most of it, but wisely pay attention to who I'll be playing against as the team leaders choose their teammates.
  Annabeth scans the group calculatingly and points to Reyna. "Reyna" she calls, and said person steps forward. Percy grins and surveys the remaining 7 of us in the way a child chooses a piece of candy. "Jason" he calls.
  This goes on for a little bit before Percy calls me to his team along with Leo. The teams are as follows:

Frank.                  Me

Annabeth put me on defense, which I was perfectly fine with, along with Leo, which I was not fine with. He tried to keep up conversation but ended up failing miserably, which kind of makes sense because we are in a social group. The game is pretty uneventful until Percy bolts into our territory and lunges for the flag.
  He doesn't get very far because Leo decides it's a great idea to tackle the intruder, and they go rolling into the grass, leaving me alone to defend the flag. I stand watch until Jason and Rachel tackle Leo and Percy grabs the flag, and by then I'm sitting and watching, kind of amused by the innocent intensity of it all.
  But then that innocence is shattered.
