Chapter 13: Zoey's secret

Shivers creep up my spine as I am put in the freezing cave. I notice five balls of light blocking my vision. It seems that my friends are taking longer to come. Why is that? I slowly get up from the hard, stone floor and look around. I am in some sorta cave entrance with only rough walls. The stone around me are all the same color of light gray, but numerous spots are frozen with a lighter blue shield of ice. I start towards the entrance when something forces me over. My nose bangs against the cold stone and I see a small patch of ice in front of me. I also notice a walkway leading out of the small cave. The walkway has five, dark yellow-green, stump pillars on each side.

A high-pitched humming noise breaks my thoughts. I quickly turn around to see everyone becoming their own self. "Good, y-you guys arrrre bacck," I shiver. If only I had fur. Once Zoey is back, she immediately hugs me, her always-wet fur starting to encase her in ice. Zoey looks at me with her river-blue eyes. "Llana, something is happening. Something BAD." She whispers. I see Zoey shiver, even though she has fur. I'm about to ask Zoey what she means, but Umbre starts to talk, and the oshawott slinks away.

"We are in a Mystery Dungeon under the giant cracks and crevices called Telluric Path, if I'm not mistaken," He says matter-of-factly. "Yes," Espa nods, her purple fur puffing upwards to keep herself warm. "This was an ancient path taken by those of the very old times, before the crevasses and land was here. See, those are footprints!" I glance in the direction Espa's staring intensely at and see the motion of paws and feet: all ice-types. "The ice is too frigid for any other Pokemon to withstand, so only ice-types live here," Umbre explains. "It is rumored that there is a crystal here with enough power to make things float!" He boasts. Espa shoots a look at the dark-type Pokemon and sighs. "Why are you so excited to see something that probably isn't even there?" She teasingly growls at Umbre.

Todd looks up, a small tear in his eye. "Since Elijah wanted me to do this, then we must reach the very end of the glacier!" He vows. Virision nods. "Llana, we can't just bring everyone in at once, and since there are six of us, we should make two teams of three!"

I look at everyone standing before me. I eye Zoey. I wonder what Zoey means by 'something is happening?' Well, I know she'll want to be on. "I will take Todd with me," I say, and Zoey runs over, that strange look appearing in her eyes again. "That makes the three of us!" She growls, grabbing us and running towards the entrance. Too afraid, I don't respond to Zoey's strange actions but keep myself staring into her dark, ominous eyes.

"We are going to play a game, a wonderful game!" She cackles.

…...

Meanwhile, back with our friends in Paradise:

The sky shines of a vivid sunset. Colors melting within each other and bright lights gleaming throughout the horizon. In the merry streets of Post Town, voices can be heard, calling out pieces like Wow, check out that sunset! or don't forget the new moon tonight! Spectacular! The events tonight will be bustling with activity for sure. At the moment, Pokémon from Paradise have been hanging around their water land- Sunken Treasure, awaiting for the bright lights to end. These Pokémon squeal with delight as more and more creations occur in the sky.

A voice, haggard with age, speaks silently to itself. "The new moon... heh. These pathetic mortals think they will watch a simple light show and stars sparkle. But I have been awaiting this moment. And once it starts... I can take over. I have already been leeching off of the oshawott. And tormenting Llana. Who will fall, in order for everything to run as planned. Now to wait..." The mysterious character stares into the stars, her icy blue eyes straining to catch a glimpse of the night. The dark. The start for the fall.
