"No, Chris you must be the biggest man, do not use your fists." Said Mark.
Chris swished his long hair, ignoring Mark's requests, he wanted to protect Mark. The small crowd laughed at his sassiness. Mark was the only person with an ounce of concern for his friend.
Freddie soon came to the realisation that Chris did not want to show off his agility or brutality, but much rather showcase his humour. Freddie laughed as his opponent backed himself into a fountain, praying the onlookers with the water.
"Felix, help, help." Chris called.
Felix was too invested at laughing at his friend. Mark ran in front of them, still filled with doubt. "You've had your fun, parading and gallivanting, now leave, before it turns into something serious." Shouted Mark. "We have been warned about this sort of behaviour, by the police, so I beg of you, lay down your daggers."
Freddie sneered, eyeing up Chris, then began to walk away. Mark was so happy that he jumped into Chris' arms and kissed him on the cheek.
Chris almost looked constipated as he clutched his side.
"Nothing good will come from your feuding families, curse you all." yelled Chris.
Mark and Felix assumed it was just Chris clowning around, little did they know that Freddie had stabbed him four times, just to the side of his stomach.
He broke free of Mark's grasp. "The end is near." He groaned as he collapsed.
Felix could not control his laughter. "Tell me Chris, are you actually injured?" Said Felix.
"I need a doctor, soon, or I might not make it."
it was now when Mark noticed the blood staining Chris' shirt. "Surely it's not that bad." Said Mark.
"I'm sure it would be enough to end me, Mark, please, come close."
Mark knelt down taking Chris' hand in his and making soothing circles on his palm.
"Your family has gave me nothing but hatred and fire. There is something else, worse than that, the poison extracted from you that flows through my veins. You complete me, go marry Sean but remember this."
"I have always loved you" Said Chris.
Mark nodded, then proceeded to pick up the nearly-dead man, making their way to the Fischbach mansion. It was a struggle hauling Chris there. Mark was shocked by his confession, he could not lie and say he loved him back. Felix took Chris upstairs, leaving Mark to ponder.
Mark didn't think Chris was seriously hurt, he couldn't help but feel guilty as it was an argument about him. How Freddie insulted him. He should not have been so weak. Sean had allowed him to let his guard down, he was pathetic.
Felix ran towards him, a distraught look upon his face.
"Oh Mark, our dear friend Chris, is dead."
Silent tears fell down his face, full of guilty tears.
