After hours of decorating the closet looked habitable. Jane smiled, proud of what they had accomplished. Matei glanced over at her and smiled too. Riley and Katrina both noticed the glance and grinned. They weren't going to say anything, but they both knew what was going through Matei's mind. "Well I should be getting home. It's really late, and my foster parents are probably wondering where I am," Matei said. He didn't want to go, but if he stayed longer he would look desperate. "I'll walk you out," Jana said quickly. No one expected her to do that. "Sure," Matei said secretly overjoyed. As they walked down together Matei got really nervous. It was one of their first times being alone together since all these feelings for Jana had manifested. He didn't want to screw it, but he didn't want it to just be a walk to the door. All too quickly they had reached the door. "Well," Matei said. "Well," Jana replied realizing that wasn't what she was suppose to say. "I mean.. um.. I'll see you tomorrow Matei," Jana said nervous. Matei looked at her and smiled "uh yeah I'll see you." He said uncomfortably. "Bye," Jana said as he walked away. He smiled at her and continued walking home. She closed the door and sat on the floor. "What have I done. That was not cool at all. I'm suppose to be a confident alpha, but I turned into mush. I looked so weak. Ugh!" Jana said to herself. She picked herself up and walked upstairs. "Matei get out okay," Katrina questioned. "Yeah sure," Jana said waking to her room. Katrina looked at Riley and they were thinking the same thing. Something was up. "Um Jana," Riley began, "did something happen with Matei. You look, well upset." She looked at the cub and went to her room. "I'd rather not talk about it," she said starting to close her room. Then Riley quickly asked, "What happened with my brother?" Jana was a bit shocked that she asked about Rhydian, but at the same time, not shocked at all. Honestly, Jana had been waiting for that question. She figured Riley became curious, because while Matei was around she did her best to leave Rhydian a mystery. Jana realized she couldn't leave it a secret, when there was something to be said. Jana slowly came out and sat on the couch. "Rhydian came to my pack in the wild with Carrie, your mother, and we just hit it off. We would do everything together. He even showed me the human world, and how it wasn't all that bad. Eventually, I ran away to this world and started school with him. I also had feelings for Rhydian that were only mutual when he thought he would never see Maddy, his mate, again. I challenged Maddy plenty of times for Rhydian's affection, but to no avail. We all became friends once I accepted he didn't love me. It still hurt for a while, because I hadn't really gotten over him. I am now though, I just don't like to talk about it. Now if you excuse me I'm heading to bed," With that Jana walked away. Riley sat there kind of shocked. "Huh I never realized that was the situation," Katrina said. "You knew!" Riley said in shock. "Well not really, Jana and I weren't exactly friends back then." "Oh," said Riley. "Well it is really late, better get some shut eye baby Rhydian," Katrina said. "Um yeah okay," Riley said hoping that nickname wouldn't stick. They all went to bed that night with a lot on their mind. Katrina was thinking about Rhydian and all the past times in school. Riley thought about how she wanted to meet her brother. She was really grateful for the place to stay. Jana was contradicted and upset about Matei, and Matei was now unsure if Jana had feelings for him.
