Sometimes you fall for the wrong person , but the realization comes late . It becomes tough to even breathe but once that you fall for it you must leave it and find the right person for yourself , though it can be very hard to see that your partner is not the right person for you but only you can realize your mistakes and try to correct them and apart of that it is not important to always have someone to love , fall in love with yourself . If you have found yoitself then go find that person or else first find yourself. And is it said "Don't try to find your soulmate, find your soul, mate."
