"I miss Rick"
It's funny how the one person you never thought would understand you turns out to be the only one you can hold on to
"I miss grandpa too"
Morty never really called him grandpa.
Because grandpas were supposed to be lovely and supporting and not risk your life in some kind of space ship.
But that didn't mean he wasn't family."I want him back, Summer. And I want those bastards aliens out of my planet"
"You are talking like grandpa, now. I guess you two really love each other"
Morty smiled for once
"Ew, Summer, gross. Don't make me look like a wimp""Like you weren't good at that yourself" she thrown the pile of laundry she was fixing at him, laughing.
He caught it and looked at it sadly. It was one of Rick's lab coats.
"We should go get him" he whispered to himself.
Summer turned serious at once. She walked across the room and sat beside her brother.
"Are you serious?"Morty keep analyzing the lab coat, a frown drawn on his face.
"He would do the same for us. I mean, he would have said we were just a pain and act pissed. But you know he would have done that. He loved us, deep down. He wouldn't have done what he has done if it was otherwise"
"I know"
Morty raised his head
"So..?"Summer crossed her arms anxiously
"Are we really going to do this?""You tell me"
Summer got up and reached the window to see the new intergalactic federation legacy expand under her eyes.
Well, it wasn't exactly their old life, and seeing the ones who locked her grandpa away 'somewhere in the galaxy' all around her was giving her a stomach ache, but it was Rick's attempt to fix everything.
What did they know about Rick after all? What has he done to become an interdimensional criminal? Where was him over the last twenty years?
He didn't talk about himself that much, but what they did know, was that he was willing to sacrifice everything for them. He already had."Get the portal gun"
