Hey everyone! Welcome to chapter two of Population Crisis! I know it's been a super slow start, but I'm working on it. I'm a new author and this is definitely a new experience for me as well. So just stick with me here guys and gals. Anyway, here is Chapter Two!

"Wha-what?!" I whimpered. The shock was starting to set in for all of us. Casey was already a blubbering mess, Devin was silently brooding, and I was terrified.
"We-we're d-dying!" Casey managed to sob out. I pulled her close, attempting to comfort her and myself. Was this seriously happening?
"I guess it makes sense now... all of those deaths that have been happening lately around the country that people haven't been able to explain. It has to do with this... this serum the government injected in us." I realized.
"Wha-what are w-we going to d-do?!" Casey sobbed again.
"I-I don't know Casey..." I responded hopelessly while continuing to rub her back softly. She suddenly ripped away from my gentle hold. She looked at me, her eyes somehow burning even with unshed tears still apparent.
"What do you mean, 'I don't know'?" She growled out. Shocked at her outburst, I couldn't think of a reply.
"I-" I stuttered before she interrupted me.
"No! Shut the hell up! You know what? Maybe it's your fault! Did it have something to do with the water? Huh? Did you bring us there just to poison us so you wouldn't suffer alone? Is it contagious? Did you give to us? Am I fucking dying because of you?!" She screamed.
Stunned, it took me a moment to take in what she just said. Suddenly coming the realization, my eyes flamed as I stood up looking down upon her.
"My fault?! You think this my fault?! They just said it was a SERUM FROM THE GOVERNMENT! You think you're the only one suffering here, but we ALL are! You're such an ungrateful, selfish, bitch!" I retaliated. She instantly stood up, her long, blond locks swaying behind her.
"Well your just a fucking c-" she started but stopped when Devin finally interrupted.
"ENOUGH!"
Silence echoed with all of us glaring at each other, ready to attack. Somehow, the three best friends who had always been together through thick and thin, had been driven apart in tragedy.
