2: The Suck

Breathing heavily, trying to control myself, I wanted to ask where Minho went, but I was too shocked to say a thing. I just opened and closed my mouth in shock, hoping Aris would explain to me what just happened. He was technically a stranger, but for some reason I trusted him. I looked over at him, but he had folded his arms and began staring out of the window.

Around five minutes later, my eyes flicked over to Newt's window. My mouth dropped open as I saw it wind down, and the skinny figure of the boy being dragged out by the air, and he let out a scared growl as the loud sucking occurred again. He vanished from the plane and his window rolled up again. Similar to last time, everyone stayed still and expressionless.

My mind quickly told me that if it followed the same pattern, I would be sucked in just ten minutes. As moments passed I became increasingly nervous, and glanced around the plane to see if I could escape in any way, but it was no use. We were sealed in there. I tapped my fingers on my seat, impatient and nervous. I was so scared, that every time I inhaled, I made a little whimpering sound. Aris noticed this and turned to look at me sympathetically.

"Calm down!" He whispered, and somehow he relaxed me slightly.  "Don't be afraid..."

Just as he said that, his window began to roll down. The moment went in slow-motion. He glanced to his side with a helpless expression, then gulped nervously, before being dragged through the hole into the abyss. My eyes teared up and I reached my arm out to help him, but he was gone. The one person who I trusted was gone.

As his window was wound up on its own, I realised that I was next. I was only nineteen. I had barely lived my live yet. I was an innocent girl, I certainly didn't deserve to be here. My past was hazy and almost blank but I was sure that I wouldn't have done anything bad.

The next five minutes went painfully slow. I dreaded the moment that I would be sucked - but then again, I might meet Aris again. I hoped he was ok.

Then, just as tears began to form in my eyes again, I heard a squeak from beside me. I jerked my head around. I sharply inhaled in fear. My window shot down, and I felt intense amounts of gale-force winds pulling me away and out of the hole. I tried to grasp onto something, but it was no use. With a scream drowned out by the sound of howling wind, I was lifted from the ground, off of my seat, and forcefully sucked out of the window.

And I couldn't believe what happened next.
