I can feel the cold wind brush against my bare legs, my coat not really helping me to cover myself. I shield my eyes with one hand as the other one holds on tight to the strap of my backpack. I am heaving for my breath as I burst through the doors.
"Oh my gosh, Lydia, there you are! You are so late, do you know that?" Elodie says, backing up a step and taking in my appearance. "Oh sorry, I wasn't aware. That's why I just ran all the way from home in the pouring rain." I give her a look. She rolls her eyes and points to my soaking vans. "You better have something dry you can change into, or you might get sick." Now it's my turn to roll my eyes. "Yes, mom," I say as I laugh a half-hearted laugh. "Please, don't call me that. I mean, you're not older than me anyways so it shouldn't scientifically be possible either. But the point is; you know you can't get sick before the big day, right?"
I just nod my head, a smile playing at my lips. "Trust me, I know," I say as throw my arm over my best friend's shoulder. And with my squeaky vans on my feet we make our way to class.
.
"That is absolutely crazy!" I shake my head, not believing my own ears. Loud laughter fills the room. "I know! And the worst part is that he was so serious about it." I laugh even harder and hit my and hand down on Elodie's blue pillow, soon rolling over onto my back, trying to get some breath back. Her room is one of our favourite places. There are so many memories tied to it, and I swear I'm almost here more than I am in my own. Three of her walls are white, while the last one is light blue. Which also happen to be the wall where her desk is placed with many of our memories neatly taped up on the wall above it. I love it.
My breath was almost back to normal when Elodie deepens her voice. "Hi there sweetheart. Do your legs hurt? 'Cause you've been running through my mind all day." It doesn't take long before new laughter splutter from my mouth. "You nailed it. That sounds exactly like him. So cliché though. Did he really think that was going to work?" She shakes her head, smiling. "I have no idea."
The door downstairs shuts with a little force, causing us to hear it. We share a look, both of us knowing exactly who it was. She is the first one out of the bedroom and down the stairs, me trailing behind, trying to act cool. "Hey, brother!" Elodie shouts as she jumps down the last steps of the stairs. I immediately get that Avicii song stuck in my head. "In the kitchen," he shouts. Elodie stops in the doorway, turns back to me and grins. I punch her in the shoulder and mutter a quiet "Shut up." She pouts and rubs her shoulder, quickly shaking it off as she turns back to Caspian in the kitchen. "What are you making, Casp?" She takes a seat at the kitchen isle "Uhm, cereal?" He throws a questioning glance at Elodie, wondering why she was asking when he was standing there with the cereal box in hand, in plain sight for her to see. I take the time to admire his light brown locks as well as his broad shoulders, and his skin, and just everything really.
As he was about to avert his eyes back to his gourmet meal he spots me, still standing in the doorway, staring like the awkward dumbass I am. "Hey Lydia," he says nonchalantly and with a smile, pretending he didn't notice. Both his smile and his kindness makes me swoon inside. Damn, you're whipped. Get your act together, Lydia. "Hey," I say, about to lean on the doorframe, but nervous as I am I stumble. I quickly regain my balance, and hear a chuckle from Casp and a full-on laugh from Elodie. So much for getting your act together. "You alright there?" Casp asks as he passes me in the doorway. His shoulder grazing mine. He is gone before I can answer. I stand there frozen. Gosh, why you got to be so stupid around your crush? I shake my head, hair falling over my shoulders. A groan is leaving my mouth as soon as I sit down next to Elodie. My head is in my hands, too embarrassed to look up. "I don't think I've ever seen you blush that hard before. But on the bright side, it could have been worse." A little laughter is leaving her mouth after. "How could it possibly have gone worse than that?" I exclaim horrified. Silence is embracing us. Elodie is a little hesitant and I am patiently waiting for her to say something. "At least he didn't notice that your zipper is open."
Are you fucking kidding me?
First chapter is up!
Before we get any futher I just want to get this of my chest;
I am writing this story because I think I will enjoy it, and because I hope others will too. But to be able to produce something that I am statisfied with, something I believe will make the book better, I need time. So the point is that I will not have an update schedule. I will update when I am inspired to create something good. And hopefully you can enjoy the finished product of this book and not just some particular parts of it.
Anyways... The song that is attached is the song that gets stuck in her head.
And to finish on a lighter note, since it was becoming a tad too serious, here is a joke. Everyone likes jokes. Especially me.
Joke of the day:
I'd tell you a chemistry joke but I know I wouldn't get a reaction.(probably didn't get a reaction from that either) oh well.
Vote and comment!
I appreciate feedback and advice on how to improve my writing.
