when I woke up, my head was pounding. I lifted my hands to massage my forehead, only to find that I was unable to move them. I groaned and looked down at my hands. They had been tied behind my back with goodness knows what. Confusion overcame all my emotions as I looked up to see Maddy opposite me. She was in the same predicament as me; sitting on a chair with her hands behind her back, except she was still knocked out. I took in her appearance, her top had been ripped and her hair was a mess. It was too dark to see her face although I recognised her dark hair and the curve of her nose.
I looked around the dark room, finding nothing but a wooden desk nearby. I sighed, looking down at my knees. My jeans had a hole through each knee and they were stained with my blood. I shook my hands around violently in hopes of my arms slipping out of the ropes or whatever was keeping my arms captive, but there was no luck. Whoever tied this was an expert, it seemed.
A door opened, causing me to stop my movements and drop my head down. I pretended to still be knocked out - that way, hopefully, my captors won't hurt me or torture me in any way.
"Don't pretend, bubblegum. We have cameras" a deep voice came from the corner of the room. I snapped my head up, squinting my eyes to try and see them in the dark.
"My names Ethan. This is my twin brother, Grayson and we-" Ethan started, squatting in front of me.
"Have kidnapped me and my friend." I said aggressively, spitting in his face purposely.
"Aw, come on. You make it seem like we've done something wrong when you say it like that. Oh wait. We've done plenty wrong" the other voice, Grayson, adds while he tries to hold back a menacing chuckle. I practically growl as I look back to Maddy who was still unconscious.
"She better be ok" I snarled at Ethan as he smirked back.
"She's fine. She'll most probably wake up with a mild headache but that's all - nothing she shouldn't be able to handle." Ethan says, standing up. As the two walk towards the door, my anger takes over as I yell after them.
"Psychopaths!"
I hear the low rumble of their menacing laughter as they close the door, which sends shivers down my spine. My emotions are all clouded but as I took a look at Maddy, I burst into tears. She may have been unconscious but she was the only thing I had and if I make it out of here and she doesn't - I won't be able to carry on.
