Of Black Cats, Ladybugs, and Ghosts

Dark Cupid 4

Phantom flew as fast as he could toward where he thought Ladybug was. He ended up finding Cat Noir and Ladybug standing on Cat's staff which was wedged into the building's wall.
Cat had just hushed her so Phantom sighed and waited for their moment to he over, all the while watching to make sure Dark Cupid or Fire didn't attack them.
"What was it that Miss. B said...?" He mumbled to himself. "The prince kisses the princess to break the spell? Was that it?" His green eyes widened slightly.
"Oh...oh!" He shouted, smiling in triumph. He turned to tell the other two Paris heroes what he figured out, but was punched in the face by Fire before he could.
He staggered back and clutched his nose, noticing the way Fire winced and the black spot over her core grew.
"I hate you!" She yelled, her eyes burning a bright red.
With new determination he dodged her sloppy attacks, grabbed her by the arms and said, "I doubt that very highly." He was about to kiss her when more arrows were fired his way.
Cat Noir was climbing the wall of the building when Fire raced to his aid, holding out a hand for him.
"Why don't you join us? We can destroy Ladybug and Phantom together." She grinned.
Cat looked down and said, "No...problem." He chuckled as he grabbed her hand.
In his lair, Hawk Moth rejoiced, "Yes! Now I have one of the spirits of protection and Cat Noir under my control! Their Miraculous will be MINE!!!"
Fire's tail flicked uneasily as Cat smiled at her. So much hate and anger here. She took a deep breath and let it enter her core. The wolf girl growled deep in her throat as more of her fur turned black.
"Let's spread more hate, shall we kitty cat?"
Cat grinned and nodded with an evil laugh. More hate and anger was put into the air. Fire breathed it in with a content sigh even as the black on her fur slithered around her torso, leaving only her arms, part of her back, her legs, tail, and face until touched.
She looked at Noir as he ran away and was swamped with a sudden wrongness, along with that cane pain. Phantom floated down in front of her with a sad smile on his face.
"You wanna dance pretty wolf?" He asked. The green eyed teen managed to throw an ice knife that cut across her cheek.
The wolf girl's eyes widened, not at all paying attention to her new wound, "No! The plan! I have to stay with the plan!" That's when they both heard Cat yelp, "Back you-you savage!" Fire spared Danny a glance, but turned around to pursue the cat and bug.

"Oh no you don't!" Danny shouted, grabbing her by the arm and spinning her around. Red eyes widened as he drew closer, ready to kiss her. The wolf girl turned her face to the side so he only kissed her cheek before tearing her arm away from his hand and kneeing him in the stomach as hard as she could. Phantom wheezed and nearly doubled over, allowing her to escape.

She skidded to a halt in front of him, but he didn't have that luxury...he ran into her.
Both cat and wolf went tumbling off the roof while Phantom and Ladybug were pelted with more arrows.
"Stop fooling around!" Dark Cupid yelled. Fire grabbed the gutter before they fell and the blonde boy used his baton to create a stable place to stand.
"Took you long enough alley cat." She glanced over and saw Alya video taping.
"Yeah, well, if you hadn't-hmmf!" He was cut off when Fire kissed him. The black energy on her fur recoiled and slithered back into the depths of her core. Meanwhile, Cat pulled her closer as the spell from Dark Cupid's arrows started to ware off.
He gasped, "What? What just happened!?" Fire rolled her, now silver, eyes and blew smoke out of her nostrils.
"We were hit by arrows, those arrows weren't made for ghosts, I kissed you to break the spell, and I think it was caught on video. Let's go." Cat gaped as she climbed the wall and held out a hand for him.
"No, I got it." He squeaked.
The wolf girl rolled her eyes, "Just hurry up kitten."

Phantom POV....

I wonder what Fire meant by 'The plan'. I dodged another volley of arrows.
"Arg! Where are those- Ah!" Cupid cut himself off when a fire crystal dagger flew through the air and cut his bow string.
Fire flipped down from where she was on the fountain behind Cupid.
"Sorry I'm late, had some business to attend to with the kitten. Kiss the prince to break the spell and all that." She sighed, "I hate Valentine's Day..." Ladybug gave her a death glare and tightened her grip on her yo-yo.
Suddenly, we heard Cat Noir shout, "Cataclysm!" He charged forward, got a boost from Fire (Ladybug glared even harder at her), and used his power on the strap for his quiver.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" He shouted, throwing the pin to Fire, who was the closest.
"Sorry kitty, I don't accept Valentine's Day presents." She said, tossing it into the air. I shot it with an ectoblast and a small, dark purple butterfly came out.
Ladybug relinquished her glare and said, "No more evil doing for you little akuma." She spun her yo-yo in a circle before swiping the butterfly.
"Gottcha! Time to de-evilise!"
After the small light show was over she set the butterfly free with a soft, "Bye bye little butterfly."
Fire smirked, "Well, time for us to go." She snapped her fingers and turned into smoke.
I sighed, "I gotta go too. See ya around Ladybug, Cat Noir."

Later...

"Fire, I'm serious, what was that you said about a plan?" I asked impatiently.

"I'm telling you I have no idea." she said back with an eye roll. Fire scratched the back of her head as she ate an apple from the small fridge in the corner, we successfully got it to run on ectoplasm without making the food come to life.

"Fire..." I said in warning, "If I have to I'll make you tell me." She didn't even glare at me like she usually would, she just laughed.

"Yeah, no you won't. You wouldn't abuse your power like that, but if you must know you should check the ladyblog. If I'm right you'll find part of my plan there and in the way Ladybug was acting today." She gave me a mischievous smile, "Didn't she seem...jealous?"

My friend laughed lightly as she purposefully swayed her hips, heading to the small portal so she could take a shower in Clockwork's tower. It took me another 10 minutes to piece it together, but it eventually clicked together.

A slow smile spread across my face as I started to laugh, "That sly wolf is playing match maker!" I laughed a little more before shaking my head, I wonder what else she knows that I  don't...
