Blowing In The Wind

ch.2

Kashi-

I pull open the door and walk into my home. My baby cuzzen Akari waddles up to me and raps her tinny two year old arms around my legs. “ Keyshy! ” she sed my name wrong but I smile at her. “ca-she, kashi. ” I say trying to dumb down my name for her. She just giggles and smiles her cute smile ear to ear.

My brother comes into the door and looks at both of us. “Take Akari and go set the table. ”  I nod and grab Akari's small hand.

I lead her to the table and she sits down on one of the Matt's on the floor. I wait for my brother and mamma to come as I poured the tea. I look over to my right and see  yin and yang. Our mother grew up in Tokyo but after my grandmother passed my grandfather  told our mother to move to America.

Do we do practice the customs of my mother's childhood and we speak fluent Japanese. Yet she settled with our American father who passed away in war. So we also speach fluent English.

My brother enters the room as dose my mother. They find there seats on the Matt's around the table as I serve the tea. Then the Ramen, and last the rice balls.

I quickly set on my knees and we all speak at the same time. “Itadakimasu” (ee-ta-da-key-mas) this means “I humbly receive this food” before we start to eat.

We make little conversation before we hear an abrupt knock at the door. My mother silenced us and she quickly walked towards the door.

“Kashi take Akari to your room and don't come out for anything.” koji snaps. “Why? What's going on koji?” “I can't talk right know. Just do as I say.”

I give him a worried look before grabbing Akari and running down the hall. Whatever is going on I don't think it's going to be good.
