"Jessie! Jessie get up! It's time to go to school!" My mom shouted up the stairs.
"Do I have to? I think I'll just....sleep.........a little...........longer," I replied, the pauses between my words growing as a drifted off to sleep.
"Jessabelle Masters! Get up right this instant!" my mom shouted again.
Sighing quietly to my self, I got out of bed and looked at the clock. 7:39. Crap! I'll have to hurry if I want to get ready on time. I don't want to be late on the first day of school.
I quickly took a shower and dried my naturally curly black hair. I applied some lip gloss and eye shadow. I have no need for mascara with my thick black eye lashes. I grabbed a pair of dark jeans and tossed on my favorite gold tank top. I pulled on my black converse and grabbed my bag off of my desk. I sprinted down the stairs and was tripped by my annoying brother Seth.
"What the hell! I don't have time for this! I'm gonna be late!" I shouted at him.
"What? I didn't do anything Jessie," Seth said, unsuccessfully trying to hide a smirk.
I quickly checked my phone and groaned. It was 8:45, I'm gonna be late. "Thanks to you, not only do I not get to eat breakfast, but I will also be late for the first day of school!" I shouted at him.
Seth smirked and said "I'll give you a ride."
I sighed and gave in. He loved the fact that he could drive and I couldn't. He probably planned this so that I would have no choice but to ride with him. Thankfully we got to school just as the first bell rang. I sprinted to the building so I could get my new schedule and not be late. I sprinted down the hall, to my new locker, and up the stairs to my first class. I sighed. Looks like I got all of the boring teachers this year.
By lunch time I was famished. I grabbed my tray which had two sandwiches, a bottle of Gatorade, and a bag of Veggie Crisps on it. I scanned the lunchroom and spotted my best friends, Kayla and Morgan, sitting with my triplet sisters Jasmine, Jacklyn, and Janet.
"Hey Jessie, are you going to the track try-outs next week?" asked Morgan.
"Of course! You know that I love running. Besides, it will be fun. Will you be trying out?" I replied.
"You know I can't. I'm too busy with the horses," Morgan told me.
"Oh yeah, how could I forget? Didn't you get a new horse?" I questioned.
"Uh-Huh. A thoroughbred. Her name is Lucky. I have to re-train her so she can be sold." Morgan replied happily.
Lunch went by quickly and I had to go to my next class, art. Finally! Something I actually like to do! I walked in and saw that we wouldn't be painting today. Well, what did I expect? It is the first day after all. The art teacher, Miss Jefferson, showed us how to do different shading techniques and then told us to draw anything we wanted on the paper in front of us. The sheet of paper wasn't very big, about the size of a post card. I thought about what I should draw, and the dream that has been haunting me for the past month came to mind.
I drew a man and woman running. The woman had her arms out-streched, as if throwing something into the air. I was obsessing over every detail, so I didn't get much done. The bell rang, startling me out of my trance-like state. I glanced at my schedule and saw that my next subject was gym. After gym was study hall. I was literally obsessing over this picture and during study hall I added a golden eagle with it's talons streched out, as if it was trying to grab something. I then drew the head of a wolf at the bottom of the paper. The man and woman were running from the wolf through a forest. This picture was almost like a memory.
