My brother, Matt, was the one that woke me up, in a way. Because my father was such at him for doing who knows what illegal thing. My brother and I are very similar except I am smarter, because I don't actually get caught.

I quicker pulled on some jeans and a plain black shirt. I walked out of my room and in the corner of my eye saw my brother arguing with  father. As I entered the bathroom a saw my reflection in the mirror. My brother and I are identical twins except I had brown hair while Matt blond hair. I was slightly taller and Matt was broader.

I pulled by bag onto my shoulder and grabbed the library book, that I had just taken out, about shape shifters. They peaked my interest they had very similar DNA to humans but that abilities and traits of the certain animal they changed into. Many fat cats and rich kids bought and sold for pets to other bastards.

My house was about five blocks away from the shitty school we go to. Go Hornets! I slowly walked away from my 'home' to hell. I had a feeling that I was most likely skip first period today because of my bitchy teacher. So I went to my locker avoiding as many people as possible and started to wander.

I was walking around the school trying not to be caught by any of teachers for cutting class, when I neared the front of the school. There was a tan girl standing outside the entire way with a confused and frustrated face on. As I got closer I realized that she was very pretty in a tropical and striking kind of way. I tried to walk past her hoping that she would just ignore me. I was in a mood where I just wanted to be left alone and undisturbed. But of course luck was not in my favor today because she called out to me, "Um... hello? Can you tell me where the office is?"

I peered down at her, and said, "Sure, let me show you the way. I wanted a reason to cut class anyways... by the way my name is Matthew, but don't call me Matt. That's my twin's name." I rambled not caring that I mentioned my delinquent brother , but surprised that I was telling this to a girl I barely knew.

"Okay then Mattie, show me the way," She smirked showing a bit of confidence and humor. "Also, my name Nyoka. It means snake in Swahili." She said to introduce herself. As she finished her statement a though of  curiosity swam it's way into my head, when I realized how interesting this girl was. I made sure that my facial features did not give me away though.

We walked though the old worn down hallways, not really paying attention to where I I was going because I knew these hallways like the back of my hand. But in all actuality, I was putting most of my focus onto the the petite girl walking next to me. Something was off with  this girl. She seemed to have a different air around her, as like she was not the same as everybody else. "This is the office. Hope to see you around," I uttered. I turned around not looking back on to Nyoka, but contradicted to what I said I knew, I'd make sure to see her again. I turned a left and walked back to the classroom which I was suppose to come to in the first place.

I wandered around for a little bit before I actually reached the science hall. I walked in, not even trying to be discrete about it, knowing that the teacher hated me anyways. As soon as I walked in, Ms. O'Conner spun around saying, "Where were you Mr. Jones? You were nearly thirty minutes late to class!"

I knew right away that what ever I said I would still be in trouble. So I simply said, "I was showin' the new girl around," while I walked over to my seat then slouched on the chair.

Ms. O'Conner grimaced and turned back to the broad and started with, "Well let's review the main parts of the human cell..." and about right about here is when I decided to do zoning out.

I heard a light knock at the door and the door cracked open. And saw the new girl from early. "Um is this room 605?," She asked in a meek voice. Ms. O' What's-her-name nodded. Nyoka said, "I'm new here. My schedule said that this is my first period."

"O right, they said that we were going to get a new student in this semester. I'm Ms. O'Conner. You're Nyooku Enilloll... right?" Ms. Oh-that's-her-name asked. Well, that's new one to add to the record of mispronounced names.

"Yes that is me, but my name is pronounced Nie-ō-ka En-low." She corrected.

"Okay Nyooku," I some how fled back a snickered after that fail. Then of course  the teacher had to started saying, "Lets find you a seat.... there's an empty chair. Oh there is chair by Matthew. Matthew please raise your hand."

So I raised my hand as slow as possible. When got over and sat next to me, I flipped my hair out of my eyes and said, "Can you see why I wanted to cut class. She's a bitch, I still got detention. Even though I helped you."

I saw her bag fall to the floor out of the corner of my eye, but then there was a small noise that instantly put me on guard... a very small hiss.

Oh Joy!
