~ Prologue ~
She knew it was a mistake as soon as she turned the corner, I could see on the expression of her face. Her eyes glistened in the tears that were slowly building up behind the hazelnut lens. Her cheeks were first a colour of roses because of the constant rubbing away of tears that turned to a pale colour of sickness. She stopped before slowly shifting her small foot onto the escalators moving downwards. On the ends of her feet were pink shoes, covered in pink glitter that sparkled in the artificial light from the distant ceiling and the natural white light beaming in from the big and wide glass wall covering the whole of the front of the building. Every so often, a giant metal bird carrying hundreds of passengers to distant countries would glide over the building, they'd make the sound of a thousand cars revving their engines. The airport ground would rumble like an earthquake for around a minute then it would stop. The sound would start off at maximum volume and the noise would disappear in the background. A plane flew past as that girl stopped to take her last look at the man in the distance, it was like time had frozen. The buzzing heads, the crying baby bodies, the screaming toddlers and the stressed eyes suddenly seemed to almost stop. It was the effect that you only ever see in the movies, at first I didn't believe what I was seeing. Could it have been a glitch?
