The tale of Headmaster Witch is old as time. Although the hero, a King was incredible, noble, and strong yet, many folks wanted to hear more about the Witch. Some believe witches are mystical and mysterious beings. Throughout the years, the story becomes revised through oral as storytellers exaggerated the original tale. From there, the witch became an icon symbolic for being hideous and feared.

Aside the historical context of the Headmaster Witch, now days the fairy-tale is told as a popular bedtime story. The maids constantly entertain me of how witches love thunder storm because their magical rounds become the strongest. Witches companions are usually crows, black cats because their spiritual powers are closer to Hell.

Witches are known for their dreadful appearances however, they loved to stumble and play tricks on young men by masking their physical appearance with magic. With the maid's taunts and endless threats of witches...I still don't believe how a historical fictional character is used as an icon which terrifies young children. Witches are only fragments of one's imagination and tall tales.

There is a proud Kingdom with a rich and bold history. The land is blessed with prosperous soil, diverse crops and cattle flourishing from the nutritious grass field. Next to the castle walls is a wide river which carries and channels fresh fish. Also the torrent has excellent assets of trading routes.

Today marks the 100th year of the Great King who battled against the evilest Headmaster Witch and restore peace and prosperity back to the land.

The day begins in a large lecture hall located in the palace's ground. Shelves over crowd with books and some are stack in a form of tables which holds papers and candles. The environment feels studious as the walls are cover in maps of the land, coastal shore, and ancient texts. It is a very knowledge place however; the Prince is the only student present in the grand lecture hall with one of his assigned teachers.

"Prince, are you listening? You were not paying attention again! My Prince, you must understand, a true King shall never ignore the rich and cultural history of his own kingdom."

Prince slowly lifts his book off his face and slumps towards his chair.
"King?" He smirks and he scribbles a small childlike drawing of his family tree. "I cannot be the successor...due to royal favors...the daughters has first rights to heir the throne."

"Even that is so...it is important to learn as much as you can in order to fulfill your role when the time has come."

"There is nothing more you can teach me. I have been drill upon these theories since my youth."

"Well, if you are certain then I shall quiz you. Tell me the Ancient history of the kingdom."

"...ugh...again...everyone knows that story..."

"I will be the one who will evaluate your version."

"...fine...it is the same family tale about the Great King. He was mankind's hero who battled against the Headmaster Witch who was threatening the land. During the final battle as the Great King used a sword and pierced the Witch. The blade stabbed the enemy and with the Witch's last breath...in death, the Witch grim and then placed a curse...upon the Great King..."

"However..." said Scholar. "...even with many well trained doctors overlooking the royal family...the curse was never found...these talented medical doctors were stumbled what the curse actually is..."

"Come on! I am not interested in this historical lecture and we all know there are no such things as witches or curses."

"Prince! It is not wised to say the curse is a lie."

"It is a lie...there is no evidences within any of the royal text stating if the hex is actually true..."

Scholar set down his book onto the wooden desk top which is covered in candle wax from the last night studying.

"A consequence or not it is still dangerous! Prince, you must respect and honor your ancestor who had fought bravery..."

"It was so long ago and no one really remembers it."

"It is a feast to commend the outcome of one of the many historical battles which this Kingdom had faced."

Prince stands up and exits out of the room leaving the Scholar behind. Scholar takes off his glasses and wipes the spectacles with a cloth. Then he redirects his attention to the untouched books and he sees the Prince's doodles.

"Such foolish thinking..."

Prince wonders off into the lobby, which is the main hall of the castle. He is constantly surrounded and reminded of his ancestor's achievements and success. Rows of family portrays however, the female paintings always outnumber the rest.

"I never understood why this hallway is majority dominated by the women side of the family...maybe they love to see themselves..."

There is a large story painting based on the ancient battle of the Headmaster Witch and the Great King.

He touches the faded and crackled painting. "Such lies, there's no such thing as witches since they were perish along with practice of magical arts."

Staring at the portrait of the witch and he leans closer in order to have a better vision of the artwork. Then right before his eyes, the picture seems as if it moved. Prince blink several times and he look away.

"What was that?" He is flabbergasted, but he faces the painting again as nothing happen. "How strange...I swear..."

Then from the distance a maid calls for him. "Prince! The Royal Mastery is requesting for your present."

"Tell her she needs to meet me half way."

"Prince?"

Then someone enter the hallway. "That's enough." It is the Queen, her powerful and imitating present demands for respect. She stands tall with a stern face. "Thank you for fetching Prince but leave us."

The maid does as she makes haste into the hallway. Queen walks towards the old painting as the Prince follows her every movement.

"Do you understand the significant of the images? They act as sequential panels guiding those with curious eyes."

She points to the first image. "From here, mankind was one with the earth, the sky, and the sea, but the Land's Creator had forbid man to control the elements of nature. Those who shall are rejected with devastation..."

"Spare me, your Mastery." Prince is fiddling with his button shirt which is neatly held into place by a thin wool vest. Then he speaks out of annoyance. "It is a tale which is cram into my head since I was a child."

"Oh, is that so? Well, than if that is the case then it would be a privilege to hear this legend from you."

He pouts, clears his throat, and then stares at the massive artwork.

"Those who broke away from the divide protection started to have the ability to control the nature's power. Rumors spread as some believed those who gained the magical arcs had betrayed the oath which was made with the Land's Creator...some wondered if these people had stolen their soul to the powers of darkness in order to gain such strength which is beyond believed."

Queen's lips are coated with a dark crimson rouge as she gives Prince a devilish smirk. Her beauty is well known throughout the royal family however; very few common folks have never seen her in person.

"Please." She said, "Do continue!"

"At first these people who possess these powers were call magical users as time passed different ranks and classification developed. Sorcerers, wizards, and mages work in harmony with mankind except some who misuse and abuse the powers they gain—"

"Therefore." Queen interrupts him. "A massive war was created as it was the Great King who united the other Kingdoms and battle against the Headmaster Witch who is known for being the most powerful and cruelest castor ever. Despite the dangerous powers which the enemy had obtained...in the end, the Great King had trumpet and brought peace which lasted for many years."

Prince said under his breath. "But in order to achieve peace there is always a sacrifice."

Queen faintly hears him as she glares at him. "What did you say?"

He quickly responds. "Nothing...although, I highly doubt your Mastery wanted to hear a bedtime story which is offend told to young children."

"You catch on very well my Prince." She approaches him. "As you may know 100th year celebration of the bloody battle between the Great King and the Headmaster Witch is approaching. On that very day, you are responsible to be present during the grand ceremony."

"I see, but frankly, I don't understand why this has to do anything with me."

"There will be a grant play to honor the heroic act of the Great King and you shall be there to witness it."

"Is that all?"

She faces to exit the galla yet, she turns to the Prince. "Don't worry, soon enough you will understand which role you will have to fulfill."
