I looked at Cali in aw. Unaware that Travis and Lily-Ann had joined us. I had to think of a way to get this girl out of the club and back to the safe house without alarming anyone. As soon as I figured out a plan I was going to be quick to act. Our race was a dying one thats why people that know of us only think there are three of us. But if this is true and she is one of us THE light could be growning. And that was never a bad thing.

" Cali , it's um getting late do you think your parents would mind if you came and hung out back at our place for the night?" I asked her this sizing up her reaction,

" I don't have any parents. They died when I was young. But I'm sure my brother wont mind. Hes here let me go ask . Stay put ok?" She said this quickly.

" Ok , I will." I sttured the words out as she parctly ran to go see her brother , as if she thought I would leave. Travis and Lily-Ann looked at me questioningly as if I might have lost my mind. " Guy's trust me on this one ok? I know what I'm doing." As I said this reasuring them of her , she returned with a sly grin.

" Shall we head out? Do you need cab fair? On me." She said this sweetly

Travis looked at her and said strinly." We don't trust the norms with our where abouts. We walk. Hope you brought your walking shoes."

She frowned slightly telling that Travis and Lily-Ann weren't as accepting as I was but she didnt let that have any affect on her attutide towards me.

'Alex are you going to be able to walk in those boots? They could be used as a weapon. " She said this as she looked up and down at my outfit. I didnt think i looked that bad. I was wearing a short black dress with kitty stockings and combat boots. My thick scarlet red curls fell over the my shoulders covering most of the deep v of the dress.

" Yeah. I should be fine. Thanks though." I said this as we exited the building. Travis and Lily-Ann cut in front of Cali and I and headed home with out turning back and saying a word. Cali and I walked shoulder to shoulder for a while in siclence. I knew I needed to get to know her before she would be allowed into the house. " So um Cali... tell me about yourself? " I asked this while sneeking a sideways glance at her.

" Well , Im 16 and my parents passed away.. I live with my "brother " but hes not really my brother. I own this house next to an empty lot over here. But its taken a lot to get me to go back. I dont know.. theres not much more about me that i could tell you. Besides the fact that my parents passing happened on my 16th birthday... the day that stupid light started shinning in me." She said this with a taste of hatrade in her voice.

" The house we are going to is that empty lot. The light.. its protects it from the outside world thats why we couldnt take a cab. But do you mind if I asked you to take me into yours. I feel like I should show you why your parents passed. They were great teachers." I said this looking away not wanting to see her reaction to what i had said.

" You knew my parents? But..theyve been gone for over a year now.. youre only 15 how is that possible ive never seen you before." She asked this grabing my hand.

" Cali , yes you have. I've been 15 for over 100 years. I was there the day you were born. I can explain it all if you just take me inside the house." I said that last bit with a tremendious amount of pleading in my voice.

" Ok..I'll take you inside." She weaved her fingers in with mine as we reached the steps to her family home. Travis and Lilly-Ann were already inside the safe house next door hopefuly getting over the fact that i was bringing in a new girl. But who knows with those two.
