"Carry on my way wayward son!" His iPhone blared out as he walked down the abandoned streets of Atlanta. A bat swung over his shoulder, he sang the tune. "Carry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are done!" His terrible voice rang through the broken and empty buildings. He brought his bat forward and pretended to play it like an air guitar. He strummed the chords and laughed. Glass fell out of the windows of the broken buildings that were crumbling down.
Xavier Allander was one of the last people left in Georgia, as he fought his way to the top to survive. His brown hair was slicked back, neatly placed, somehow he had a little gel left to keep it down. His gray eyes were as beautiful as the dark gray clouds that seemed to never hang over the city as much as they use to. He had freckles, a little petite nose, and a smile that had more charm than the Kardashians ever had. He was as sly as a fox, very well built, but not the smartest creature.
He howled out, his voice once again ringing through the dirty and empty streets of this ghost town. The song ended and he placed his bat over his shoulder back in it's holster. He was a god of the apocalypse, as he thought he was the only one left alive in his state, not even the military protected Georgia anymore. He hasn't seen anyone since the zombie outbreak started. People were jumping out of their hospital rooms on the fourth and fifth floors, people were getting in their cars and driving to the north to try to escape the disease, and others were trying to fly over seas to protect their families. Not Xavier, he had no one, no family, no friends, so he decided to stay and fight, to protect his once crowded city.
Xavier started to run, his rib cage expanded as he took a deep breath. He could hear the growling of the disgusting, cannibalistic creatures, a herd of at least 30 sounded like they were coming right at him. Suddenly, gunshots pierced the air with a few screams. Xavier didn't own a gun, and he knew better not to shoot or it'd draw attention. The sun was low in the sky, as it was close to setting.
"Over here, boy!" He saw a white haired man at the top of another building, beckoning him over. He looked around, eyeing the man, and he raced to the base of the building, sprinting about 100 feet.
"Hurry now! They're coming!" He had a thick southern accent, as he reached out for Xavier from 7 floors up. Xavier heard the growls and moans getting closer and closer. Xavier grabbed the pole that was attached to the building as he began to climb, getting closer to the man. Xavier didn't know if he could trust this man or not, but he would rather take his chances with possibly surviving rather than being the food for the zombies. The face rotten creatures, the whole herd, reached the base of the building, trying to scramble around to reach Xavier, but he was already 4 floors away from the cannibals.
"How...." He managed to say as he grabbed the ledge of the 7th floor and hauled himself up and over. He shakily stood up, his bat still sitting on his shoulder. He looked around, eyeing another brown haired boy past the white haired man. He asked the first thing that came to mind; "How did you know I was here?" He grabbed the tip of his bat with right hand, just in case if he had to take this man out.
