5..4..3..2.. Each day as the days counted down I suddenly realized there was one day left until the most chaotic day of my life. My mother's annual Christmas party. The past few weeks have been chaotic around my house; My Mom was yelling through her outdated phone. Dad was trying some new invention he made out in the garage, and finally my brothers. They would always be playing with some sort of sports ball. I tried to stay out of everybody's way. As soon as i walked through the door I immediately trudged to my room , hoping nobody noticed my entrance. There was no way I was going to be pulled into some silly shenanigans this year. I heard the faint yelling of my name through my cracked wooden door. I tried to ignore it but they just continued yelling. I exited my room to see why I was being yelled for. My mother continued yelling until I tapped the back of her shoulder, making my presence known. "Oh my goodness." she exclaimed. "I really need you to go and get your brothers' suits from the launders." she spewed out in one breath. I let out a sigh and grabbed my keys from the key rack. I opened the door and felt the cool, crisp, winter air hitting against my shoulders. I walked quickly to get to my truck. I gripped the handle firmly and opened the door. I climbed in and turned on the heater. I pulled up outside of the grungy, worn down, laundromat. I turned the truck off and quickly walked into the store and up to the counter. I wanted to be in and out as soon as possible. A young girl who looked to be in her early 20's strutted out from the back room and up to greet me at the counter. "Hi, i'm here to pick up for Heidi Zimmerman." I said to the woman. "Alright, have a seat and I will have them out to you quickly." She replied in a thick southern accent. I took a seat when a boy who looked to be my age walked in. No body jumped to greet him so I figured it was just the one woman working today. He turned around and we made eye contact. Just as he opened his mouth to speak I heard the young woman calling for my. I grabbed the suits and rushed home. When I walked in I smelled cinnamon and nutmeg. I almost forgot everything that was going on for a moment. I walked up to my mom and handed her the suits. she kissed my cheek and I walked into my bathroom showering as quick as possible. As soon as I got out I threw my hair into curlers and proceeded to out on my make up. I walked to my room and put on the new dress I had bought earlier in the week. It was a pixie cut length and black to gold; It was genuinely stunning. I zipped myself up and took the curlers out of my hair. My curls fell and ht the middle of my back. I walked out of my room and noticed guests were already showing up. The doorbell rang and my mother yelled for me to answer it. I walk up to the door and straightened out my dress. I opened the door to let in the nice couple. The dad turned, only revealing their son slightly. As soon as he turned around I noticed he was the boy whom I had seen at the laundromat earlier. his parents walked through the door leaving us all alone. He looked up and let out a slight chuckle. "what?" I questioned him. He looked up again and I knew why he was laughing. We were standing directly under the mistletoe. We looked into each other's eyes before he said" Well this is one way to meet someone." He took a step closer until he was close enough for our noses to be touching. He wrapped one of his hands around the small of my back; Using his free hand he lifted up my chin so that our eyes would meet. He leaned forward ever so slowly, until his soft pink lips rested themselves upon mine. He pulled away and it felt as if we were the only two people in the house.
