[No POV]

"Okay Glad0s. Let's see what you've got."

Within seconds, a bright flame had spread from Cisco's newest invention to the end of a long line of notes and designs scattered across the surface of his desk's countertop. Though lucky for him, no one else was in his workspace, and the fire extinguisher had already been replaced from the last "incident".

Without much time to process what the hell he just did, the geeky engineer's instincts took over and his hands shot out in front of him. In trying to protect his face or whatever was actually being protected by his arms, however, Cisco's foot found its way to a stack of supplies lying by his desk, and the entirety of clumsy Latino came crashing to the ground.

[Insert pained Cisco noises]

Meanwhile, in the main lab, Caitlin and Doctor Wells's conversation on physics was cut short by a sounding BANG and the smell of smoke pervading the room.

"What was that. . .?" Caitlin asked, her eyes widening slightly.

Dr. Wells lowered his head in knowing humor, rubbing his forehead slightly before looking back up at Cailtin and adjusting his glasses.

"I believe Cisco's project may not have turned out as well as he wanted."

The two exchanged a look of why now? before hurrying heels and wheels into the room, where Cisco was bent over his desk, coughing in a mess of white fluff and burnt up shreds of paper.

"Cisco!" Wells wheezed as smoke filled his airways and his wheelchair rode up closer to the disaster. "What is this??"

Cisco finally got ahold of his breathing and stood, clutching the empty fire extinguisher in one hand and the edge of the countertop with the other. His face was shocked and covered in white, but completely free of embarrassment as he looked over at his two coworkers.

"So, note to self: overheating isn't as overrated as I thought. . ." Definitely. And now I seem like an even bigger idiot since becoming the new Pippin of STAR labs. . . Wait. That would make Wells Gandalf. . . Nope, not using that ever again.

"Okay, well, I don't need to tell you who gets to clean this up," Wells mumbled.

Cisco huffed air from his cheeks then looked around at the disaster. "Great."

As a break in conversation sprung up, CC News continued playing on the TV, a few words about an "impossible break-in" luring the team's attention to the screen.

"-downtown area of Central City. So far, none of the culprits have been able to be identified. The police are on the scene as we speak, but the group has taken hostages and won't allow any further action. The burglary is affecting more than two hundred employees at Trial Enterprise, but so far, no one has been hurt. It's unknown if the culprits are capable of it, but violence can be predicted from the situation so far."

Something gleamed in Wells's eyes as he whispered, "The entire building, taken over by a single unit? Fantastic."

Caitlin turned to Cisco with a serious expression. "Cisco-"

"Right," he said to himself, putting the extinguisher down then following the two back to the main lab. The group resumed their regular positions: Cisco at the computer, Caitlin making sure he didn't screw up, and Harrison Wells toward the center of the room, awaiting their feedback. The only one missing now was The Flash.

Caitlin took initiative for that, pulling out her phone. Beside her, Cisco worked his magic and found a map of the area via satellite.

"Barry! Hey, we need your help. Not much time to explai-" Caitlin began.

Then TAHDAH, Barry was there.

"What's up?" he asked, approaching the table with an open expression.

Caitlin bit back an annoyed retort, but instead of shredding any chance Cisco had at being the witty one of the day, she took the time to describe the scene.

"What? No," Barry skeptically replied. "That's not something a group of two or three dozen people can do. The Trial Enterprise building has-"

"Hundreds of people," Caitlin cut in.

"Exactly," Wells stated, facing them. "That's why we need Barry to go in and find out what's happening there."

"If you're up for it," Cisco said, gaze focused on his screen. "The police are on that place hard. I don't know who these guys are, but unless they have a Tom Cruise taking them through this, chances are they have a meta-human."

Barry sniffed. "Of course I'm up for it. . . Does it smell like smoke to you?"

Cisco's eyes widened.

"Uhh nope. Not to me or anyone else here. Time for you to suit up, Barry."

Barry raised an eyebrow at him then shook his head and turned, instantly reappearing with his suit on.

"Okay," he breathed. "I'm ready."
