"What are we supposed to do again?"

   "Nothing."

    "What do you mean nothing?"

"We aren't supposed to do anything. If you were paying attention to people around you, you'd notice that they, themselves, are not doing anything." he sits back and the familiar half-smirk comes. "Gosh. I feel like your tour guide or something..."

"I feel stupid when you tell me that."

"Good. We're learning something!" he suddenly shouts that turns every eye in the room towards us. "Hey, Professor! We're learning something!"

"Well, that's good news. You've still got 8 minutes to spare. Learn more."

"Uhm, what did we learn, exactly?" my voice barely a whisper.

     "You learned to believe."

     "Believe in what?"

"That you're stupid." I was supposed to learn that!?

      "Ouch."

"Well, sorry if I offended you, but you will look stupid if you believe you will, you know."

      "I'm not sure I'm following..."

"Well, let's put it in a lecture kind of way. See here..." he flips the pages of my book and stops to where Austen's biography was written.

"Have you read this before?" I ask him.

"Hard to miss when your Lit Professor's a fan."

"Why exactly do you want me to read this?"

"Because it shows you the power of believing."

     "Believing in what?"

     "In everything."

"Why would I believe in everything?"

"You shouldn't. But you should believe in something..."

    "Like?"

"Like... well... hmmm..." he shifts through the pages of the book, then suddenly stops. "Success. Who knew Austen would be so famous?"

"No one did. Not even Austen herself."

"True. But not 'no one'. Memoirs wouldn't have been written if they didn't believe in her."

"Okay, given fact that your family's your support group. So?"

"So you believe. You take chances. Not everyone's like Austen."

"And not everyone's belief is true."

"But that doesn't stop them from believing, does it?" and just before the half-smirk came again, the bell rang.

*******

It's lunchtime, and I've been looking forward all day for Izzy's tour.
