The rain pounded the roof of a small hut so hard it almost drowned out the tortured cries of the Queen giving birth. Those cries soon subsided and were replaced by a new much younger cry. The cry of a newborn baby. "Your highness, it is a healthy baby girl." The lady's maid gleaned. As she handed the baby off to the queen, a second ladies maid busted through the door.
"The royal guards are coming." The roaring thunder made the child's cries grow louder.
"Tambra, take her." The queen struggled to keep her eyes open. The lady's maid started to protest but the queen would have it. "Follow the plan. Go, do as I say. It was never the plan for me to go with the child. Leave now!" At that moment the guards kicked down the door.
Tambra had gotten ten yards away from the hut when the queens last cry was cut short by a slash of a sword. "You shall save us all," she said to the baby sleeping softy her arms. She ran away into the forest with the princess in her arms.
