A Fatal Decision

Aer's P.O.V.

"Terra,what's wrong with you?" I questioned as I felt myself choke back a sob. The much bigger earth dragon snapped his head to me as we stood side by side on his land. I flinched back but when I saw his eyes,I noticed something... They were a darker green than before. But no,he can't be.... No.... It can't be. I won't believe it. Looking up,I stared into his eyes again. No.... I no longer saw my best friend,only a heartless monster.
A dragon who used to be all I wanted.

Is now gone.

Now a monster took his place. A terrible beast that should never be released. My vision blurred as tears formed in my eyes,I looked at the ground. Remembering the good,fun days we had together was now painful. My heart ached,it hurts so much. I can feel my mind swirling,causing an amount of pain that made me want to roar at the top of my lungs.

I can bring you back...

Let me be your savior...

I thought to myself. Taking deep breaths, I summoned all the courage I had in my body. I walked in front of him,my limbs shaking as I stopped. He looked down at me,the dragon that was once my guard against all the bad feelings in this world was now gone. His gaze pierced my soul as I shakily stood up. I held my head up as high as I could in an attempt to look stronger than I felt.
I hesitated but then pressed my muzzle against his,closing my eyes. I can feel Terra stiffen under his thick,dark brown scales.

"A-aer." He seemed to choke out,emotion thick in his voice. Hope flared in my chest as I confidently stepped back to look into his eyes.
My heart dropped.

His eyes....

They were now black with small white pupils that seemed to stare at my soul. My fear held me in place. My sky blue eyes met black and white ones. My instincts suddenly kicked me,making my heart pound.

Run! This is not the dragon you know! He's gone!

After a moment of hesitation,I spread my large wings and leaped off the ground. I had the most speed out of all the elements, I can escape anything with ease. Out of no where,a pain pierced my neck,making me roar in agony. Claws sunk into my back and pushed me into the earth below. I struggled to breath as I realized it was Terra doing this. Terra....
I wanted to yell stop,but I could feel blood in my mouth,the tangy taste filled my mouth. I coughed out the blood,feeling my back claws ranking Terra's armored stomach. My front claws scraping the earth in an attempt to escape. His claws sunk deeper into my back,I roared in pain,throwing my head back,letting the roar escape my throat.

"T-terra!!" I roared. The pain lessened,Terra backed away,his eyes a light yellow instead of green. I coughed up more blood and began to back away as he stepped closer.

"Aer,stop!" He said,his voice pleading.

"I'm sorry! You're my best friend this was never meant to happen I can't control myself! F-fly away quick!"

I turned and stared at him,pausing.

"T-terra.... Please come b-back I-I need you h-here...."

Terra opened his jaws to respond,but his eyes turned black with the same white pupils. He leaped and pinned me again. Fangs seeped into my neck,making me wail. The pain was too much to bare. He caught me off guard when I could've flown away. His large claws pinned one of my wings to the ground and sunk into the thin flesh. Agony rushed through me as I heard a loud crack. He has broken the bones in my wings,my wing was now broken. Everything started to become blurry and dark. I let a final,weak roar escape my long jaws before I laid my head down on the earth.  I felt my eye lids get heavy and felt as if rocks were tumbling around in my skull. I whimpered and sobbed as the pain in my heart grew stronger. More blood spilled out my mouth,my scars seemed to spill more and more blood by the second. I can see my light silver scales were now blood covered. The clawing stopped,Terra's eyes were now staring into mine.

"Aer,no!"

I tried to respond,but my eyes closed and my heart slowed. I shall now walk among the other spirits,searching for a new life.

Oh gawd... Aer was one of my favorites too.
