"Do you have a last name?" I ask him. "Mine's Blake." He continues to stare into me for so long that it begins to scare me, then he repeats "Alice Blake."
Aiden stands up and turns towards me. He walks right up to me. I realize for the first time that he is quite a bit taller than me. He looks down right into my green eyes and says "Marshall, I'm Aiden Marshall"
Without another word he takes my hand and runs, mostly dragging me behind him. When I regain my footing Im able to run next to him. Wow. I think to myself. He's fast. As the awkward pair we were, we continue to run through the woods dodging the tree branches and jumping over the roots and fallen logs. I see something up ahead of us but I'm not really sure what it is. As we get closer I see that it is some sort of rudimentary hut or house. Aiden leads us to the hut and when we've reached it he pulls the handle and opens the door.
When both of us are safely inside, Aiden closes and locks the door behind us. He says "We will be safe here." I walk around a bit exploring the small but surprisingly nice home. I mean guess you could call it a home. I turn to see Aiden lighting a small fire in what seems to be the fireplace. He asks me "You hungry?" I reply with a simple "no." So then he shrugs and walks towards an old, beat up cabinet. From within it he pulls out a box of toffee. I exclaim "Where on earth did you get a box of toffee if you live out here?" He replays with a sly smile and says "I have my ways...and my people." I whisper under my breath "that's not shady at all" and roll my eyes.
Later Aiden asks "have you ever loved someone?" Though slightly taken aback by this I reply "I mean yeah sure I love my parents and even though he can be a brat sometimes my brother." Aiden laughs and I scowl at him and he exclaims "No! I mean, like REALLY LOVED someone, like having an attraction to them?" I fire back with "so have I ever kissed anyone?" He replies "sure I guess" though a little confused I say "if you must know, I have never kissed a boy." He smirks and says "you kissed any girls?" Again I reply with "I have never kissed a girl either." BANG! The sound comes from outside the hut startling both Aiden and myself. Quickly Aiden screams "Alice, HIDE!" I say "what, wh-" but he cuts me off and yells "JUST DO IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ALICE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!" I run to the old, battered cabinet, climb in and once again, for the third time since - quite literally - running into this mysterious gray eyed boy, everything was dark and black.
