Brad had watched the ambulance go, then waited for the samples to be brought. He was shocked that there were so many.
"What the hell did you do to her?" Brad asked Greg. Greg frowned.
"Does it matter now? It's all ruined anyway." Greg said. Brad moved closer and, before anyone could stop him, he punched Greg in the face.
"You heartless bastard! That is a person you're talking about!" Brad yelled. Greg had fallen back, clutching his face, and he glared up at Brad.
"A person? She's not a person. She's a creature, an abomination. Should've been drowned at birth, or relinquished to my Lab. I may have let her go now, but I won't forget her. You never know what the future holds. You might need me someday, Andrew." Greg said. Jones laughed.
"Over my dead body." He said. Greg nodded.
"Careful, it might come to that. No one knows what the future holds." Greg said and before anyone could do anything, Greg had left, the guard moving back in front of the door. Warden took Brad's arm and they, Tucker and Jones headed out to Brad's car. They all went back to Sugden Labs, talking heatedly in the car about what had happened, speculating over what may have happened to Cassi.
Brad went straight to the medical area when they arrived, but Tina told him that Cassi was fast asleep. Tucker had taken all the samples and checked what they were, and an hour later the four doctors and Jones were in the conference room.
"They had taken eggs from her ovaries, bone marrow, and...and spinal fluid. No wonder she's so unwell." Tucker reported. All of them wore identical expressions of disgust.
"Have you destroyed the samples?"Jones asked. Tucker nodded.
"I haven't destroyed the eggs yet. Thought we could hold onto those, freeze them in case she has trouble getting pregnant." Tucker said. Jones nodded.
"A wise idea. Tina advises she will sleep most of the afternoon, so we all should get on with our other work. Doctor Thompson, I believe you have a few phone calls to make."Jones said, then headed out. The others left too, and Brad headed to his office. Once there he called Jenny, then Tabbi, and then Robert Mitcham. He had an idea he wanted to run by Robert. Something he was sure would protect Cassi, and any children she had.

I woke up a few hours later, feeling groggy, still on my stomach, but the pain had lessened. I had no idea where I was though, and fear gripped me. I tried to prop myself up, the pain in my ribs making me cry out in pain and fear, lying down again. Someone came over quickly.
"Shh, settle down. You're safe." I heard, and looked up at Tina. I slumped, tears forming. "Where does it hurt?" Tina asked.
"My lower back, my ribs, my left leg." I said. She frowned.
"I heard what they did, your lower back at least. But why your ribs and leg?" She asked, and moved down by my left leg, lifting the blanket. She saw the dressing where the spinal fluid had been extracted, then looked down. I heard her gasp as she looked at the back of my left leg where Hank had applied the pressure point torture. I didn't know it yet, but there was a huge dark bruise on the back of my knee.
"They had to perform CPR on me too."I said softly. She gasped again.
"That's horrible. Just horrible. Oh Cassi, you poor thing." Tina said. She started to give me some water to drink.
"No...I need to be sick." I gasped, my stomach writhing. Tina got a sick bag and held it for me just in time. My breakfast came up, as well as the sandwich and biscuits I'd nibbled before being put under. I sagged, tears forming. I hated feeling sick. She binned the waste and gave me some more water, and then took my vitals, then called Brad to come down. He got there so fast, I could swear he ran down to the medical bay. He went to hug me, but Tina stopped him.
