Chapter 4 – Harry’s P.O.V.
What the hell is wrong with me? I left my phone with an obsessive (yet highly attractive) fan, and I told her to “hang onto it” for me. I don’t have a password, so she could go on there and spam every celebrity in my contacts. She could hack my social networks. She could practically do anything she wanted on my phone. She could leave with it, she could give everyone in the arena my number. Okay, that’s a little drastic, but she could still share it. But there’s this eerie thing about it that doesn’t bother me. I feel this odd trust towards that girl, and I don’t even fucking know her. Call me crazy, I’d agree with you. It’s just something about those golden brown eyes that drew me in. She was standing by herself at the meet and greet, not even near the actual line. I had to say something to her. I couldn’t let an insanely stunning girl be by herself.
Yet the pain in her eyes was evident. Even as she adorably rambled and got flustered with excitement, the pain still stayed. And those six words she said to me still clung to my brain: “Thank you for saving my life.” I’ll admit, the lads and I hear that a lot, but it sounded different coming from her. I know a lot of our fans self-harm, and I could even see sealed slashes on Valerie’s wrists, but she was just special. Something about the suffering in her bright eyes, and the sincerity lacing her words struck me. I know I’m completely over my head about this girl I hardly know, but this small part of me wants to know her more. I knew one thing for sure; I will see her again. Not just for my phone, but for her, too. We’ve got a couple weeks off, and I plan on spending at least a small portion of it by her side. God. I sound ridiculously stupid over this girl, but I can’t help it.
She intrigues me.
“Earth to Harry!” I snapped my head towards Liam, quirking an eyebrow. He smirked. “You zoned out on us, mate.”
“He’s probably drooling over that hot girl at the meet and greet,” Louis laughed.
“I’m not drooling,” I argued, rolling my eyes. “There’s just something about her…”
“Besides her being insanely attractive?” Zayn chuckled as he plopped down on the couch next to me.
“Yeah, aside from her attractiveness,” I agreed. “I don’t know, really. I just… I don’t know, she’s different. She thanked me for saving her life.”
“Harry, we get that all the time,” Niall pointed out. “Every fan has a different reason for it.”
“I know, but you don’t understand. She just had so much emotion behind it, I guess. She was literally bawling her eyes out, and she clung to me as if her life depended on it,” I told them truthfully. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mind her hugging me like that. I think it’s cute when fans squeeze you to death. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to hug her again. I kind of liked the way my arms fit around her petite waist. I liked the way her head buried in my shoulder… Jesus, Harry. Shut up already! That’s it. I’m going insane over this damn girl, and I don’t even know her.
