Don't stop.

Whatever you do, don't stop.

Those thoughts were the only things going through my head as I ran past the rotting skeletons of trees.

My heavy ball gown snagged on jagged roots and briars, but I kept running.

I ran until my feet bled.

I ran until I couldn't breathe anymore.

But even then I still kept going.

Don't stop.

Don't let him find you.

Thick fog clouded my vision as I ran through the dark forest, and the growls of animals filled the air with an eerie symphony. My breath came out in small white puffs as the temperature dropped; a sure sign that He was coming.

It seemed like ages before I broke free of the trees.

I stumbled into a small clearing. It was surrounded on all sides by black thorn bushes, cutting off any chance of escape. A platform that seemed to be made of pure glass stood in the center.

I walked toward the platform, a mysterious force pulling me closer.

Climb the steps.

The cold glass stung my bare feet, but I climbed the steps, needing to see what was at the top.

I climbed the steps in a daze, I needed to know what was at the top.

Wasn't I doing something important before?

Keep climbing.

I shook my head and all of my previous thoughts were forgotten. I started climbing the cold stairs faster.

Faster.

Faster.

I finally reached the top, my heart pounding a million miles a minute. I saw a figure standing a few feet away from me. I couldn't see his face.

My feet pulled me towards him.

With every step I felt a tug at the back of my mind. I remember.

Run.

Get away.

Don't let him catch you.

I tried to turn and run back down the stairs, but it was like I wasn't in control anymore. The figure turned around and my heart stopped.

Chocolate curls.

Emerald eyes.

And the permanent smirk that his lips always seem to have.

I struggled against the invisible force pushing me closer to him, but my efforts were in vain. He chuckled at my pathetic attempt of escape and reached a large hand out. The monster captured my waist in an iron grip, enjoying my disgust towards him.

"Oh darling that's no way to greet me, is it?" He chuckled.

I was finally able to break away from him, backing up I looked at him with fear and disgust filled eyes. He sighed and ran a hand through his messy curls. "You never learn, do you Amber?"

I turned to run back down the stairs, but I suddenly found myself back in the forest, surrounded by thick black thorn bushes. I heard his laugh echo through the dead trees.

"You always seem to forget one, very important thing."

I looked around franticly, trying to find where he was. Suddenly I felt his cold breath on my neck.

I went to run but he caught my wrists, pulling me back into him. "W-what's that?" I whimper.

He leaned down and pressed his lips to my ear.

"When I see something that I want, I stop at nothing until I get it. And you know what Amber?" He whispered.

"I always win."

He chuckled and pulled away, a sadistic look in his eyes. "You've been a naughty girl Amber, running away from me like that. And naughty girls have be punished."

He gripped my bare arms tighter, his nails biting into my skin. "Now be a good girl and scream for me."
