It's finally Friday which means... FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAMES. I live right by the field so I walk to the games. But when it gets cold, I make my best friend, Danni, picks me up. But it's September so it's fairly warm outside. I walk down the sidewalk in leggings and a school hoodie on. Shawn hasn't left my mind since Saturday. So it's been about a week.
I hand the older woman my money and she gives me a ticket to give to the guys at the gate. I walk into the football game and see Danni by the tree near concession. I run over to her and hug her.
I feel someone hit my shoulder and I turn around but didn't see anyone. Hmm weird.
About an hour later...
Some guy is messing with Carly so me and Danni walk over to see what the hell is going on. I join the group and see Shawn on the ground with Carly wrestling. He sees me and stands up immediately.
"Melissa and Danni, this is Shawn." Carly says while getting up wiping off the dirt on her knees.
"We've met," I say. But Danni just waves to him. I look at her and I can tell she's attracted to him. A splash of jealousy waves over me.
Me and Shawn got to know each other a lot that night. Me and Danni were in a competition of who gets more hugs from Shawn. I was at 6 and she was at 5. Let me just tell you, I never thought someone could be good or bad at giving hugs but man Shawn gave some awesome hugs. I just wanted to be in his arms and never leave. I know, I am a total freak.
By the end of the night, I had 8 hugs and Shawn considered us best friends. Which made my heart skip a beat. I found out he is 15 turning 16 in December and I was 13 but turning 14 in less than two months. So I mean it wasn't THAT bad. My parents are two years apart so they can't force me to stop talking to him.
I hugged Shawn goodbye and he said, "Bye best friend!!" and winked at me. Seriously almost passed out literally.
"I officially love him." Danni said. I just gave her a weak smile.
We decided to sit in the grass and watch the rest of the game.
THE NEXT DAY...
'This day couldn't go any slower' I say in my mind as I get my seat on the bus to go home. I check my phone and I see I have a Facebook message...from Shawn. My face heats up and I start smiling until I feel someone sit in my seat.
"Whatcha smiling about?" Corey says looking over my shoulder. He's a super annoying freshman who occasionally sits with me.
"Nothing Corey..." I say while putting in my headphones pretending I'm listening to music. I click on the notification and it reads, "Hey there. Text me" and then it says his number. My heart starts racing as I add his number in my phone. I'll play it cool and text him when I'm home.
I walk in the door and grab a snack and head to my room. Now I get to text Shawn.
"hey its Melissa(:" I text.
About 3 minutes later, I feel my phone vibrate. OH MY GOD IT'S SHAWN. I don't know why I'm surprised cause I texted him first. Oh well!!!!
"Oh heyy(:" He says. God he's so perfect.

"Hi Jill!!" I say to the other coach. I help coach peewee cheerleaders that cheer for my brother's football team.
Me and Shawn are talking like we've known each other forever. I feel like I know everything about him. We've been texting nonstop for three hours now.
About half way into the practice during a water break I read a text that makes me go crazy, "I loves you Meliissaaa(:" Obviously it's a joke but I'm gonna play along. "Awwee I loves you tooo Shaawwnn(;"
When I get home Shawn brings up homecoming. He's a sophomore and I'm an 8th grader so I don't go to homecomings. But Shawn just asked,
"So would you maybe want to go with me to the fall homecoming?(:"
"Omg of course! But I have to talk to my parents and you have to talk to the principal!"
"Don't worry I will!(;"
OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. I HAVE TO TELL DANNI.
-So uhm what if I told you I got asked to homecoming...
She replies back instantly, "WHO THE HELL ASKED YOU."
-...................Shawn. & I think I like him .... a lot
-oh.
-what's wrong, I thought you were going to happy for me.
-I like him. that's what's wrong. and you get all the guys. I'm always the second choice. it's not fair.
-oh my god stop.
-k.
I'm not even going to respond to her. I'm gonna text Shawn some more and go to bed happy.
THE NEXT DAY...
Another long day. So glad I'm going home. I almost put my headphones in until I recognize someone walk on my bus. IT'S SHAWN. He hugs the bus driver as I walk up to the front to greet him.
I say hi and we kinda just talk for a little bit.
-I didn't you rode this bus!
-Yeah well I do haha
-I've known Mrs. E for years...well I guess my bus is leaving. Text me okay?
-I'll get right on that
-Good *he winks*
I wave goodbye as butterflies fill my stomach. His winks kill me oh my god. He is literally the definition of perfection. My feeling for him are growing stronger by the second.
I text him, "It was good to see you again! When you winked, I'm pretty sure I died"
"I get that a lot(;"
"You're so attractive."
"Nah I think you beat me on that scale(;"
