They sit together in silence.

Jimin honestly doesn't remember the last time they were this awkward together. But then again, he doesn't remember the last time they were in the same room together, either.

"So," Jimin clears his throat. "Are you not going to say anything?"

"What's there to say? You already know it. I'm just— I don't know how to do it now. I had it planned and all,"

"You're really sounding like a jerk right now. It's making me think back to why I ever liked you, hyung"

At this, Yoongi's head snaps up. "What?"

"I—I'm breaking up with you,"

"Wait—what?"

"I've had enough hyung," He sighs.

"Jimin, what are you talking about?" Yoongi looks genuinely confused and for a second Jimin is confused too. But then he realises that Yoongi is a jerk and probably doesn't even know how much this hurts Jimin. Which is odd because it's Yoongi. The same Yoongi that gives only Jimin his gummy smiles. The same Yoongi that puts off working late at night because of Jimins pout. The same Yoongi that nuzzles his nose into the crook of Jimins neck and stays there because he needs to get energised, Park Jimin . The same Yoongi that loves him.

He wouldn't do this if he loved you the voice in his head says. "Do you really not think this affects me? Coming home late at night? Leaving for work first thing in the morning? Not telling me about where you've been or where you will be? Coming back with your shirt all wrinkled up?"

"Jimin I—"

"And you know I know. You know I know, yet you shamelessly face me. Hyung, do you love me? Did you ever love me?" Jimin notices Yoongi searching through his work bag and finally mumbling an oh thank god as he pulls out a box.

He opens it and Jimin notices a ring. A ring that Jimin recognises. They had been to Busan when Jimin had seen the ring and showed it to Yoongi. He knew their financial situation and hadn't asked for it.

Is this what the person Yoongi had been sleeping around with had given him?

"Okay wow. So now your little girlfriend gets you a ring and you want to rub it in my face, huh? Honestly what the fu-"

"Jimin!" Yoongi raises his voice. He sighs when Jimin keeps quiet and continues. "Baby, this is for you. It's—Its a promise ring. I don't know what you've been thinking but I haven't been out with other people." Yoongi looks devastated. And then, it hits Jimin. " I—I got a few more jobs so I could get these and—and I'm sorry. I didn't think it would turn out like this. It was the jobs baby, I wasn't out with anyone. Running around like that tends to ruin your shirt a little." He laughs bitterly. "I went to Busan this morning to get this. You were mad about something, I thought giving you this would make it better. I'm sorry," Yoongi sighs, his shoulders slumping. He looks so vulnerable and that hurts Jimin.

They sit down, both breathing heavily, the air filled with sniffles and sobs and Jimin's not sure which one of them is the source.

Slowly, he moves over and sits next to Yoongi, wrapping his arms around the elders waist and pulling him closer as he mumbles strings of apologies.

Yoongi's hurt, he is. He hadn't thought Jimin would ever doubt him like that. It makes sense though, that Jimin thinks so because everything adds up to it, however, Yoongi's hurt. And when he's hurt, he has every right to not think logically.

So he gently pushes Jimins arms away, keeps the tiny box on the coffee table, and walks to the spare bedroom with his bag.

Jimin hears the lock click, and he slumps on the couch.

Even with all the birds singing, the cars honking, and the kids screaming, it feels empty.

Even with Yoongi finally back home, it feels like he's all alone.
