Pic of Aidyn on the side...

Once Matt and I finished dressing and feeding the kids, we grabbed our back-packs and headed to school. Mathew and I went to Bartlett High-school and we had to walk there every morning. Matt liked school, he was good at it and made friends easily. I on the other hand, was the typical loner nerd. I didn't like anyone and nobody knew me enough to decide if they liked me or not.

“O Ana, I started this new book.”

“What's it about, wait, you can read?” I replied to Matt with sarcasm. He hates it when I do that. While Matt is the more practical and realistic one, I am the sarcastic and I will even admit, kinda bitchy one out of the two of us.

“Haha, very funny. I'm not gonna tell you now.”

“You say that like I should care.”

Matt just stuck his tongue out at me causing me to giggle.

“If you keep doing that, I'm gonna pierce it.”

Matt, wisely, put his tongue back in his mouth and silently walked the rest of the way. When we got to school, Matt's friends called him over to their little group. Turning to me, he gave me an 'are you gonna be okay' look. I smiled “It's fine, go have fun.”

“Thanks Ana.”

He ran off to go do well, whatever it is teenage guys do.

Once he left, I decided to head into school a little early hoping to reach the music room before first period. Luck was on my side. The music room was unlocked and no one was in there. I dropped my back-pack down on the ground. After making sure the door was closed and pushing music stands out of the way, I moved toward all the school guitars. I loved music. It was a great way to express feelings, thoughts, and beliefs. It was a great way to connect to someone and show them you understood them. It was also a beautiful reminder that someone out there, understood me, understood how I felt, saw the world the same way I did. I grabbed a guitar and tuned it. The school guitars usually weren't to bad, but could always use a little bit of tune up. Once I started playing. Strumming a guitar and singing put me in my own universe. All my worries just floated away for awhile and all I had to focus on was my-self and my feelings.

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

You cast a spell on me, spell on me

You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me

And I decided you look well on me, well on me

So let's go somewhere no-one else can see, you and me” I kept singing, letting all my emotions run free and have no boundaries. Then just as I was about to start singing again, a different voice started to sing instead. I opened my eyes to see a boy. A beautiful, handsome boy. He looked to be around my age. His hair was a honey color, full of different shades of blondes and browns. His eyes, they were blue, but such a pale blue that they looked more grey. His lips were a pale shade of pink, like petals and when I looked at him, I knew that he had been through a lot. He was more mature then other kids, he had seen the harshness of the world and had weathered through it. He had higher set cheekbones that suited him well with his slightly tan complexion. His voice was beautiful. It was on the deeper side of tones and had a slight rasp to it. I was slightly confused though, why was this boy just walking into a classroom and singing along with me? I was surprised, and feeling extremely shy. I didn't want to lose my moment though. My free, boundless moment. So when he came to the chorus I decided to join in again.

Turn the lights out now

Now I'll take you by the hand

Hand you another drink

Drink it if you can

Can you spend a little time,

Time is slipping away from us so stay,

Stay with me I can make,

Make you glad you came

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

You cast a spell on me, spell on me

You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me

And I decided you look well on me, well on me

So let's go somewhere no-one else can see, you and me

Turn the lights out now

Now I'll take you by the hand

Hand you another drink

Drink it if you can

Can you spend a little time,

Time is slipping away from us so stay,

Stay with me I can make,

Make you glad you came

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

So glad you came

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

The sun goes down

The stars come out

And all that counts

Is here and now

My universe will never be the same

I'm glad you came

I'm glad you came

When I came to the end of the song, I re-opened my eyes. I had forgotten where I was, what I was doing, who I was with. I slowly came back to reality and stared at the boy in front of me. Again I grew shy and unsure of what to say. Luckily I didn't have to say anything.

“You sing well” the boy said.

I nodded my thanks, afraid my voice would shake if I spoke. All the sudden the first warning bell went off reminding me I needed to head to class. I stood up, ready to leave and get to my first class.

“I guess I'll see you around” the boy said said. “My names Aidyn.”

Some how plucking up the courage, I spoke.

“My names Aiyana, but I go by Ana. I better go, I have class.”

“Nice to meet you Ana.”

With that, I grabbed my bag and walked as fast as I could out of there.
