It was your second to last class of the day. Pre-calculus. As much as you hated that class, you still needed the math credit to graduate.
"So did you do your homework this time?" Asked Katelyn walking next to you.
"Yes I did." You smiled holding up the math packet with pride
"Good." She smiled opening the door.
"Thanks, kit-Kat." You smiled.
"Don't call me that at school." She whispered harshly.
"Why? It's just a friendly nickname. It's not like I'm calling you anything like, baby or babe or some cringy pet name." You chuckled.
"Shhh!" Katelyn hushed.
"Good afternoon, class. My name is Mr. Trams and I will be your substitute for the day." The man at the front of the classroom introduced himself once the bell rang. An ear to ear grin went on your face.
A substitute teacher... In a math class.
"Ok so it says here since your teacher isn't present, today will be a chill and lit day." The teacher winked, trying to be cool. Some of the students groaned and cringed.
"What? Isn't that what the kids are saying these days? It's lit?" The teacher weakly smiled."So what are we doing today?" Asked a student.
"Well I'm honestly here just to make sure you hormone-ranging teenagers don't go all Miley-Cyrus-bat-shit-crazy. All your teacher wants me to do is put in a movie and call it a day." Informed Mr. Trams as the students cheered.
"Thank fucking God." The student next to your groaned in relief as the substitute put in the Disney movie.
"Let me guess, you didn't do your homework, Trenton?" You snickered as students went out of their assigned seats.
"I did it but I left it on my nightstand at home. What's your excuse? No wait let me guess, you copied from that Katelyn girl?" He chuckled. Trenton looks like your stereotypical white fuck boy. He's acts tough but is actually pretty sweet once you get to know him.
"No. I actually did my math homework for once." You smiled.
"You did your homework for nothing." He snickered.
"Well at least I didn't copy from Katelyn this time." You huffed.
"She's kinda hot." You heard Trenton mumbled.
"Who?" You asked.
"Who do you think? Katelyn." He smiled. You looked over to the shy brunette to see her fiddling with the large number of bracelets she had on her left wrist.
"Watch. I'm gonna go make my move." He winked getting up from his desk."Don't you fucking dare." You cursed taking his arm and yanking him back down to his seat.
"Dude what the hell?" He grimaced.
"She's taken." You growled getting up and walking towards her desk.
"Is this seat taken?" You flirtatiously smiled.
"It is now." She shyly smiled, giving you permission to sit next to her.
"Thank God we have a sub." Katelyn sighed in relief."Why? You don't want to do anything today?" You chuckled.
"Well that and I forgot to do my homework." She admitted.
"Katelyn!" You dramatically gasped.
"Shut up and watch the movie." She giggled. You looked over to the whiteboard to see the first Toy Story movie being displayed.
"So... Would you count this as a date?" You asked.
"Stop it." She sweetly blushed.
"What if I don't want to stop?" You giggled as your hand crawled over hers.
"______ knock it off." She growled slapping your hand away. You grimaced as your placed your hands on your desk while Katelyn placed her hands on her lap.
"No one is paying attention." You softly reassured. Katelyn looked around to see most of the students being engaged in the movie while others were on their phones or asleep.
"It's too risky." She whispered.
"I thought you were willing to take a risk." You pouted. She let out a deep sigh as she placed her hands in her pockets. You simply grimaced as you looked at the film being projected.
Katelyn glanced over to you for a moment before connecting her pinkie with yours. You glanced over to your hands as you connected your pinkie back with hers. You couldn't help but smile at Katelyn as a faint blush crept itself upon her delegate cheeks.

"I'm guessing PDA is out of the question?" You helplessly sighed, opening your locker, getting your notebook for your last class.
"I'm sorry, ______. I'm just scared." Katelyn admitted.
"Scared of what? It's not like your parents are going to barge into your math class to see us holding hands." You scoffed closing your locker and leaning your back against it.
Katelyn looked down, disappointed in her fear of being seen with who she admires. She glanced over to you to see you holding your notebook tight. Katelyn looked around the hallways before giving you a quick peck on the cheek and storming off to her next class, burying her rosy cheeks into her binder.
Sorry, guys I got this idea and thought it was cute so I wrote it and I thought it would be longer. Low key disappointed but I swear the next chap will be better.
