“Just leave already, I have to get ready” I look over at the blonde boy sitting on my bed, playing with the picture frame on my nightstand. It was a picture of the two of us when we went out to a picnic with his family a few months ago. It’s definitely one of my favorite pictures of us. I walked over to my closet and yanked the old doors open. I really have to change these doors once I get enough money. Living on your own is so expensive. My parents and I moved here for my last year of high school which I wasn’t too happy about at first, but then London really grew on me. I met Niall at a club that summer, right after high school finally ended. I was 18 by that time so when school ended, I went to clubs a lot and I finally started drinking since it’s legal here. Niall was really cool and we really hit it off, meaning I had become friends with 1/5 of a boy band which led to a whole bunch of rumors, even though he was dating somebody at the time. Not too long after that first meeting at the club, he had me meet the rest of the boys and we all quickly clicked. I am now 19 years old and I’m living alone since my parents decided to move back to Florida and let me go to university here. I have an interview today with some photographer that’s looking for an assistant. I never knew they really needed assistants but I’ll do anything to get into this field since it has always been my dream to be a photographer. Maybe they can even give me tips or help with my career if I get the job.
“Can’t I help you get ready?” Niall looked over at me and pouted.
“No, I’m supposed to look professional. Not like a five year old dressed me” I smile and look through all of my clothes.
“Excuse me but I am not five years old” he walks over to me and starts tickling my sides but I quickly smack his hands away after letting out a small scream. “you’re getting ready way too early anyways. Your interview’s at 3:30 and it’s not even 10:30. Can’t you just spend a little time with me? I don’t have that many days off. Naaaat. Please!” Niall begs, pouting even more. My name’s Natalie Miller but people usually call me Nat. Sometimes Niall calls me Milly or Mills. I don’t mind him calling me that but he’s the only exception.
“Fine, but just let me pick out an outfit so I don’t have to worry about it later” I huff. “what do you want to do?” I turn my attention back to my clothes.
“Well Liam, Zayn, and Louis are with their girlfriends doing I don’t know what, so I just thought that maybe we can ask Harry to do some-“
“No”
“What? Why not?” Niall asks completely confused.
“Harry doesn’t seem to want me around lately” for some reason Harry has been acting a little cold towards me. He never really talked to me and usually stayed away or went out with Amy, his girlfriend of 1 year, whenever I hung out with the boys. “At least that’s what it feels like. Maybe he doesn't like me anymore or got tired of me. I'm not sure”
“That not true at all! He… well I mean, you aren’t very nice to Amy. Well you’re not mean but you never really tried to hang out with her or anything. I think she’s alright…”
“I’m sorry but I just can’t seem to make that friendly connection with her. It’s just hard to be friends with her. Plus, that’s not true. I have tried to hang out with her… she barely even talks to us” I sigh and throw the outfit that I picked for the interview on my bed. “It’s almost as if she doesn’t even want to know me. I don’t understand why that would be bothering him now. We got along great before and nothing has changed since then. It’s so sudden.”
“I guess you’re right, but I can assure you that Harry doesn’t dislike you. We’re all best friends, he’s just a little moody. You should know that by now. He has been acting a little weird with me and the boys too. Maybe it’s not about you and Amy not being friends. You could talk to him about it..” he trails off and I groan. I hate confrontations.
“I probably should, shouldn’t I? Fine. I guess we can hang out with him today. But maybe just go out to get something to eat because I’m starving and we don’t have time to do too much”
“Sure! I’ll just text him right now and tell him to meet us at that diner across the street from my flat. Is that cool?” I nod and pull my phone out of the back pocket of my jeans. I see that I have two texts from Mackenzie, my best friend that I met my senior year when I moved here. I open the first one.

Hey!!! Wanna hang out today? My parents aren’t home and I’m so bored….. and starving. xx
I smile as I open the second one

No seriously, I’m about to eat my whole flat…
I laugh and respond
To: Kenz
I don’t think that’s healthy. Niall, Harry, and I are going to eat at the diner near their flat. Wanna come? We’ll probably leave in about 5 minutes xx
She replies only a few moments later

You don’t have to ask me twice! xx
I smile and walk over to Niall who is now next to my bedroom door, spinning his keys around his pointer finger.
“Kenzie’s coming too” I say before slipping on my brown boots.
“Cool" he smiles. Harry says he’s on his way so we should probably head out. You ready?” Niall asks as he steps out of my room
“Yeah, Let’s go”
