Chapter 4

We got to the ice cream place within ten minutes of leaving the music store. Of course Cal tried to act like he thought it was weird that I wanted to get ice cream, but I could tell he was happy with my choice.

"What would you guys like?" The guy asked while staring at me. It was a weird stare. He was looking at me like I was a piece of meat.

"I will have a vanilla shake and what about you, babe?" Calum spoke up while taking hold of my hand. My eyebrows furrowed a bit and I looked at him. He just gave me a look like he was saying to go with it. So that's what I did.

"A chocolate shake, please?" I said to the creep behind the counter. He looked at our hands and then just nodded his head.  He started working on the shakes and I just began looking around until I felt my phone vibrate.

"Babe, where are you?"

I contemplated whether or not I should answer and decided I wouldn't. I just wanna drink my shake and continue to forget about him today. The guy finished our shakes and placed them on the counter. He began to ring us up and I went to grab my money in my pocket when Calum stopped me.

"I hope you're not thinking of trying to pay. You know I'm not gonna let that happen, babe." I just laughed a little and decided to put on a bit of show on my own.

"Aw, such a good boyfriend. You're so adorable." I said to him while kissing his cheek. This made the guy roll his eyes. Calum just playfully rolled his eyes and handed the guy the correct amount of money. We grabbed our shakes and headed outside to the tables. We both sat down and just enjoyed ourselves before Cal started talking.

"You do know that guy was eye raping you, right?" I started laughing because he looked so irritated. Of course the guy was creeping me out but it's not like I have to be near him.

"Of course I do. Thanks for your help with that by the way." I said while shaking my head.

"No problemo. So I'm adorable, huh?" He asked while moving his eyebrows up and down. I rolled my eyes and responded.

"I said that for the same reason you called me babe and held my hand, you ass." I didn't deny or admit that he was adorable.

"Yeah, sure." He said with a smirk. "Do you wanna continue asking each other questions?" He asked while going to take a sip of his shake.

"Sure, but I wanna ask you some." I responded while trying to remember all of my simple questions.

"Okay, go ahead." He said and I nodded.

"What do you like to do other than soccer and playing the bass?" I asked, deciding to start super simple.

"Well I don't know. That's pretty much all I do. I hangout with Katie, well if you wanna call it hangout. We just hookup, which trust me, I don't mind. It just gets boring after a while." He answered while sticking his fingers through the holes in the table.

"What do you like about her? Don't worry, I'm not being rude. I just wanna know."  I asked but quickly cleared myself before we have another episode like last time.  He just nodded and started looking around, thinking I guess. It took him a couple of minutes to give me an answer.

"Honestly I don't know. She's just there I guess. At first I asked her out because my friend Luke basically told me I had to or else I would look stupid. She is fun to mess with but not so great at talking." He explained while looking straight at me.

"I see. Is Luke your best friend?" I asked wanting to know who this kid is. I've heard of him a couple of times now and it still doesn't ring a bell.
